Wordpress Best Member Management + Ecommerce + Forum integration

7 replies
WP Membership site necessities:
1) Good looking user-friendly login box & account area. Paypal & Stripe integration. (Stripe is a definite must).
2) eCommerce ability with 'shopping cart' feature rather than just single product pruchase (I find that most membership scripts can technically also sell a physical product, but there is no shopping cart feature).
3) Members should directly integrate into professional forum automatically from their single sign-on

Here is what I have tried - although I have failed, so I'll be asking for your advice:

aMember is a good-looking and feature-rich membership script that can integrate with wordpress; however, I'm having trouble with it working with professional forums such as IP Board (that's a big competitor to vbulletin). So although aMember can work with wordpress, I hear that a membership plugin that is built strictly for wordpress is better (such as s2member). However, s2member does not have stripe payment integration yet.

I've tried woocommerce; however it is conflicting with amember and therefore is not working.

I've tried IP Board with a wordpress integration script; however, it also is not working because of amember.

What advice do you have for software/scripts so that I can have a fully-functional wp membership site?

    s2member has an api and can be customized if you need. Might cost some to get developed but it might be able to do what you want with some work.

    As I already answered in helpdesk, aMember: has built-in shopping cart module, and can be integrated with both Wordpress and IPB Board. If necessary, there is a special integration plugin aMember<->IP.Board available besides aMember<->Wordpress bridge.
    Lets shedule a Skype chat and lets work it out.

      Interested to hear that aMember has the ability to integrate with Invision Power Board...

      I was looking for something like that recently and checked out aMember, but didn't see IPB listed...will have to check it out.

      Is the set-up difficult?

        Unless you already have IPB, I'd consider the combination of aMember + XenForo. This is exactly what aMember uses for its forum. You only have to mimic their setup to answer the question to the OP.

    I would go with a fully WP combination. A lot of membership plugins don't come with Stripe support though. Yourmembers does have Stripe support but I haven't used them personally. Forumwise, I'd go with bbPress, but you'd have to check if they are compatible with whatever membership plugin you're going.

      If you going to run a Forum (yes, from big letter F), like this site, or WebHostingTalk, or similar - then vBulletin, XenForo and IPB.Board is right choice.

      aMember can integrate with all these titles. To be honest, if your site has nothing but forum, then using forum's built-in payment system would be the best choice. However, if you need additional payprocessor support, or other features than aMember provides - then it is possible to run integration.

      Setup includes the following steps:
      - aMember+forum plugin is installed into separate folder on your website, and integration is enabled to add new paid users into the forum users database, and assigns these users a special usergroup in the forum;
      - Forum is configured to redirect users registration and profile editing pages to aMember signup and profile editing pages;
      - You configure your forum access permissions so only paid users may access some (or all) forums.

      That is all. If user is logged-in into the forum, it automatically becomes logged-in in aMember and vice-versa.

    We use Amember along with Xenforo Integration and it works great for us. I have been using Amember for about couple of years now on our site and it works fantastic.
