Hi all,

I'm just wondering if its doable to add ads ( similar to adsense ) to the Amazon affiliate site? Does Amazon affiliate network has any issues if we do it?

Amazon doesn't care but I don't often recommend it. What you ultimately do is trade dollars for pennies.

Think about it. If you are promoting some expensive item (HDTVs for example), each click you get on an affiliate link is potentially worth $20-$40 or more. Compare that to the $0.25-$0.75 you are likely to get for an AdSense click, it becomes clear why it can be a real bad idea.

If you are going to do it. Make sure you do some sort of testing first to see earnings with/without AdSense.

I totally agree with this. I have an amazon website with an adsense. The problem is that I'm getting more clicks in my adsense than my affiliate products. That's why I removed the adsense on it and the Sales went a little bit higher.

This is incorrect. Always best to review the actual policy:

Ad placement policies - AdSense Help

Google ads on the same page with other ads

You're welcome to display Google ads on the same site or page as other third party advertisements provided that the formatting or colors of the third party ads is different enough from that of the Google ads. In other words, if you choose to place non-Google ads on the same site or page as Google ads, it should always be clear to the user that the ads are served by different advertising networks and that the non-Google ads have no association with Google. If the formats are naturally similar, we ask that you choose different color schemes for the competing ads.

My view on this are Adsense and Amazon are like electricity and water the two don't go together. I agree with Wolfmii why trade dollars for cents, in my view you are saying don't read my crappy review click on this adsense ad instead...you've got to believe in what you are selling.

There are two types of searchers:

    Browsers & buyers.

Adsense -> browsers (tips, tricks, advice)

Amazon Associates -> buyers (reviews, discounts, coupons)

Many affiliate marketers use Adsense to drive traffic to their landing pages where they sell products via Amazon associates affiliate program!
