I have a very active blog that I post to a couple times a month and I was thinking about taking my blog postings and turn them into an eBook for my readers and future viewers to download. Currently I am using createspace.com to create my eBook.

It would be great to hear any tips, advice, or other tools that you have utilized to make an eBook as well as marketing your work.

How will you be selling and delivering your eBook? If you plan to sell it on your site, create a .pdf file with a nice cover image and have people download it when they purchase it. You won't make much with createspace unless you are knocking down several thousand copies in sales. Another option is to format the content in Microsoft Word and convert it over to be published on Amazon. Be sure to get a nice cover image created on Fiverr or for free if you can make one.

If you upload this to Amazon, be sure to link back to your site within the book. This will help drive people to your site that might not have visited before. You can also consider doing all 3 options. Upload to Createspace (I wouldn't but it's an option), allow people to purchase on your website (biggest profit), and upload to Amazon (more traffic, decent royalty if you are selling copies, and free to list).

From my research Amazon does take a pretty large % of sales for ebooks. Are you aware of any viable alternatives to selling a ebook?

With every PDF ebook and report I write I do a couple of things:

1.I embed an optin form right inside my ebook, so that anyone who wants to read it has to first give their email address.

        2. I submit my ebooks to the top 20 document sharing sites.

If this is going to be a free download write it on word and convert it to a pdf. Then upload to free ebook sites or as Glen has said document sharing sites.

If you are selling it Scribd.com offers one of the fastest and easiest ways to get an e-book online.

Thank you for the info about Scribd.com, I will definitely check it out! Have you created an ebook, if so who did you have to create your book cover? I have checked out many outsourcing sites such as fiverr, o-desk, elance, etc. Just looking for other suggestions for graphic designers that I may have missed.
