GetReponse With Subscribers From Different Opt-Ins

I'm looking at switching email services and am evaluating GetReponse.com.

I have several ways people can opt-in to my list - say Ebook A, Ebook B, Teleseminar C.
I will send 2-3 autoresponders (and maybe a broadcast) to people whop opted in via (say) Ebook A. Then they can be transferred to the main list and will be getting "All subscribers" messages. Same with List B and Teleseminar C.

Obviously I do not want to be charged 5 times if someone signs up for 5 lists (or buys 5 products with autoresponders). So keeping them in separate campaigns doesn't make sense.

Moving people manually to a main list is a HUGE amount of work!

I looked into segments. I was told the only way to create a segment when they opt in is to have a custom field and then segment by the way they *answer* the custom question. That obviously makes no sense, since I need to segment on the fact that they signed up, not on the response to the question.

I can't believe I am the only person who uses this model. I know lots of people who have multiple sources of opting in. Is there a way to do this in getresponse or is there a better solution with another email service? Or would I just accept the costs of multiple campaigns as a cost of doing business, since getresponse rates are fairly low?

I use to use hidden custom fields with getresponse to keep from having multiple lists. Depending on the form I would have download links as custom fields and displayed in the first email.

It worked great for a while but then GR made some changes for when people opt-in multiple times. The custom fields wouldn't get updated and it was a never ending battle to get it corrected. So, I abandoned all hope and started doing it the "normal" way.

The normal way is a different list for each product, freebie, etc.

There is automation feature on GR. Let's say you have ebook A, ebook B, ebook C.

Create list for each product and also the main list.

Set automation rule "if subscribe to main list then remove from this list" for ebook A list, ebook B list, and ebook C list.

and you may also setup automation rule "if subscribe to ebook B then remove from ebook A list", "if subscribe to ebook C then remove from ebook A list" repeat this for ebook B and ebook C list.

    Hope this useful.

Arief, It IS useful! The only problem is that I need to send at least one autoresponder to List A, List B, etc., before removing them and sending them to the Main List.

Or I could leave List A alone but add, "If subscribe to ebook B, then remove from List A...and List C and List D ..." Can I say "remove from all other lists?" That might work!
      Thanks.

You have to specify each one to remove from.

This is the issue with most of the regular autoresponder software whilst good they can be quite limiting and restrictive in some ways. I have multiple issues with Aweber not having features that I just cannot understand them not having, it seems like common sense and obvious to me but obviously not to them.

Yea you're just going to have to chock it up and make individual lists there is no easy working way around that. No super lists for you.
