Default Talk is cheap - marketers who are all hype and no substance

We’ve all seen self promotion ads from marketers and copywriters selling their wares.

Some talk up a great storm with their jazzy headlines, street lingo, and lengthy text which can’t fail to convince us they know what they’re doing.

But, what real business experience do they have? What makes them the marketing guru they proclaim to be?

When you’re sourcing a marketer or marketing advice, don’t be sold on their words alone. Ask what their credentials are. Where are the results, how many businesses have they successfully managed, marketed, owned?

Talk is cheap if it can’t be backed up with genuine results.

You see some great examples
of this in the main forum.

Plenty of people hawking
ebooks about online marketing
and asking advice on how to
market them.

The ones that kill me are the
guys selling the traffic guides
and asking people how to get
more traffic.

Don't know how they do it with
a straight face to be honest.

HA! That's so true. It's quite sad actually.

We're in direct-marketing, and it's the kind of advertising that is results driven. Numbers tell the story. I respect marketers that understand how to optimize campaigns and turn a profit for real, and it's in the numbers. Ads need to be so good that every dollar spent comes back with more.
