Blogs - Not as easy as you would think

Wow. Ok I have done so much reading and researching over the past few weeks I am finally doing something about it. Not much but something that will get me used to working online, I am creating a blog! Sounds so simple to all you experienced folks out there but I honestly did not hae any idea how much work you actually have to put in in order to have a decent blog, most people think it is just write a couple of lines and post but I want my to look decent as well as have quality content which is a lot harder than I though, phew!
Anyway just thought I would let you all know that I am finally putting my best foot forward woohoo! xx

    Well done, keep it up!!

It will get easier and it's the BEST way to learn, just get in there and do a blog, you might make mistakes but you will learn from them.

It will also get quicker to do, trust me

At least you are taking action--keep at it! Everyone has to start somewhere.

Keep adding to your blog on a regular basis and don't forget to eventually include the blog in your signature so others can check it out.

    Good luck!

    Hey Jayllie !!

    Congratulations !!!!!!!!

You are going forwards and that is the most important thing.... If you do stick at it ( When most dont ) this is when you become successful !

In my 6 months of running my blog I find 1 thing ....

The hardest thing about running a blog is.... running a blog lol

Dont know if anyone will understand that but I know what I mean hehe

As long as your blog is relatedto something you have a keen interest in the writing should be enjoyable and come natural to you. PASSION is key with blogging

I was exactly like you are now just 6 months ago... Now I help others with blog issues such as setting up a blog and just recently released my second guide - blog traffic.

My point is PLEASE stick at it... you may just surprise yourself with what you accomplish !

Im sure I speak for us all when I wish you every success !!

Another saying taught to me by my mentor ( Alex Jeffreys ) .. ...

" Dont get it perfect .. Get it going "

    Best wishes

Most challenging is to write original articles that you like. Not somebody write them for you. Not some PLR articles. But at the end of the day, your original content pays you by bringing good targeted traffic.

Good work getting started. Just be wary of the "plugin trap" - adding every plugin under the sun to make your blog *cool*...

Get what you need to make your blog hum, then add.... CONTENT.

    Best of luck!

Good Stuff...I would second the suggestion to keep at it!!! Publish at least 3-5 times a week. Go to other blogs and commment. Answer your own commenters. Eventually you will start getting some links from others. blogging is a pretty cool way of gaining noteriety in a niche'...

I would also suggest that you add an opt-in email list. Even if you only send links to your "favorite" posts...those email addresses will be invaluable when you are ready to do other stuff. For example, I just kicked off my first webinar and I simply send an email to my list and got a decent crowd....

Blogs are definitely a lot of work. Try running 3 blogs, 6 websites and a forum. I'm talking 15 hours a day working online. Reading and reading, research and researching, typing and typing. I'm not making enough money to outsource the work yet. Maybe in a year it will be different.

Great! Exciting, isn't it? For starters, blog about the topics that interest you most. Find other blogs who share the same and comment on their posts. Create a schedule as to when and how frequent your posting would be.

Good going! Remember to be valuable. I preach it a lot to anyone who will listen, but the best blogs are the ones that care about what the readers want to know about and then...

    GIVES IT TO THEM!

Crazy thought, I know. Enjoy yourself, and treat your customers right. You'll do great!

    Congratulations Jayllie,

Don't forget to set up your forum signature with a link to your blog so that we can all take a look at it.

It will also help you get visitors - traffic, as well as some backlinks.

    Wishing you success.

  • It's not hard to create a blog. It's not even that hard to get traffic. It's darn hard to make money, though. It has been for me, anyway. Some people do well so I don't want to discourage you, but don't expect instant riches or even a steady paycheck.

You are correct, blog can be difficult when it come to writing great article on a regular basis that is when you cant afford to pay for some one to write for you. You dont have to give up, its too late to turn back now. Success is just around the corner.

Thanks for all the replies guys, didnt expect so many, I love this place lol!!
I am just going to keep at it, I am writing posts whenever I have a chance but saving them and not posting them all at once. This way when I dont have so much time on my hands I still have posts that I have not posted yet:-)
I will add a sugnature in my profile once I have added a few more posts and got it looking the way I want, still a work in progress just now but for once I am feelign very positive about it. I am already thinking about my next possible blog, but will just keep notes on that for now. One thing at a time, slow and steady wins the race hehe:-)

I've been there man! My blog is in it's second week. It isn't a easy as I hoped it would be but it's still interesting.. If you blog about your passion then you are one step ahead of others who blog just about some niche that is good to monetize.

    Stick to it and experiment
