Fiverr Gig - Too Good to Be True?

OK, keeping in mind it's Fiverr which equals $5. Over the weekend I decided to look at the SEO section. To be honest, I've actually had good success with finding video creation (especially whiteboard and some templates that could be modified) on Fiverr; however, my site is lacking. All of my traffic right now is from reddit. I've about 300-500 per day and all from reddit. Obviously, I wanted to branch out so I tried this SEO gig. I gave him/her three keywords and now suddenly (literally the next day) I am getting traffic from google for those three keywords.

Too Good to be True? Are they bots? I am just looking at my site stats inside of WordPress. I decided to wait for day 2 and once again the same three search terms and google once again listed as a referrer.

Because all of my traffic was from reddit, my home page was not getting any traffic, just the specific posts. Now, my home page is getting traffic.

So again I ask, too good to be true? Am I being a pessimist? This once has me stumped.

    Your best bet is to find people from the testimonials and contact them and ask them all the same question... are you still getting traffic and has anyone been responsive since you ordered this gig?

    I wanted to test something but I messaged out to a few people and 1 person got back to me. I didn't order that gig in the end, but if you can reach out to those who have already ordered go ahead, and hope you can get some responses.

    So you saying you getting traffic from those keywords from Google, so I assume you ranking for them? Check if your SERPs improved. Honestly, I don't believe it. Your serps are not going to improve "the next day".

      Rising up in the SERPs takes a lot longer than pre-Panda and pre-Penguin.

      Are you sure your increased traffic is because of this ?

      There are a few good gigs for SEO on Fiverr (very few), but even the best ones do not have an immediate effect these days.

    Its Fiverr. Your SEO spending won't send you bankrupt buying Gigs there.

    That sounds pretty good for $5, many people say Fiverr gigs are trash, but if you see you are short on money, competing for a low search keyword, and see a bunch of good reviews its usually worth at least trying.

    If that's what your stats say then you can't get any better proof than that. You're going to get your fair share of Fiverr gigs that are too good to be true that actually are but you'll get those gigs that actually deliver on what they say. You have to experiment.

    I will personally check with the other customers who have used his services too. You will want to track whether the traffic that comes to your website from search engine is converting into subscriber or sales. If it is not converting for you, there is a high possibility that it is just robots. Do some tracking and you will be able to know whether the traffic is converting for you.

      Fiverr Gigs can be hit or miss, especially when it comes to SEO and Traffic gigs. Be cautious and be sure to look for testimonials and good review ratings on the service. Make sure you track to see where you traffic is coming from.

        The lady of luck smile on you. It is very hard to find a quality SEO gig in Fiverr, but it seems like Fiverr still have the potential. Maybe we are too focused on the bad side of something and we forget the good side of that thing. I should probably check out Fiverr right now to find someone for my Tumblr post.

    I will suggest you to wait for at least a week to see the real effect of the fiverr gigs. But if you are getting results, I would recommend using his gigs. And contrary to popular beliefs all fiverr gigs are not trash.
    There are many SEO/Traffic gigs which are more than worth five bucks.

    What I would suggest using (if you don't already have this), is to get the free WP plugin called: "WP SlimStat". It'll show you your traffic stats right in your admin back office, INCLUDING whether you are getting a high amount of bot traffic or real human visitors.

    One thing I've found with Fiverr is you need to examine the great list of testimonials. You'll often find that literally dozens of them a posted by the same person on the same day. I don't think the reputation is necessarily a reliable guide.

    I've installed WP Slimstats and will take a look. I do have Google Analytics setup, so I'll have to check what it says there also. The hits keep coming. The three keywords each day have hits and again, suddenly (and this never happened before the gig) my homepage is getting a lot of hits. I'll report back when I look at the analytics. So far, so good I guess.

    these hits, are you finding them via Awstats or Analytics? Use analytics from Google to verify the clicks you are getting. That seems to good to be true, you dont get increases like that in one day from real visitors.

      I installed SlimStat as suggested by a previous poster. I had been using WP Stats. It appears the majority of this new traffic is coming from google.com.hk

      I dont know if that is good or bad.

        If your target market is in that part of the world I would say it's good. On the other hand, if your site is trying to sell the hottest thing on Amazon.com the traffic is just bandwidth.

    For $5 its good. If its good for your website then you should hire him for more work. I hired a SEO workers from Seoclerks.com. His gig was about 80 high quality backlinks in $4 and he actually did that he provided me 80 high quality relevant backlinks. I could not figure it out how he did but the work was very good.

    All I used was fiverr seo gigs when I first got into SEO and they do work to an extent
    but obviously your not going to get pr1 + backlinks from this type of service.

    At the end of the day you need to learn how to do your own backlinks or pay the extra money in getting quality work done.. specially when it comes down to a sensitive topic like SEO. After what I have learned about SEO I deffinetly would not order seo gigs off fiverr again.
