Selling a domain name - What's the best way to 'state your case?' (benefits, etc.)...

I believe in proactive marketing.

I have a domain name I want to sell. I will be *soliciting* people in that niche offering the name for sale. That menas these people are sitting there, minding their own business, and my unsolicited offer (direct mail, NOT email (spam)!) will land in their lap.

The big hurdle I must get them over is, "But I already have a domain name (+ website)."

Their website is undoubtedly their company name. Probably not memorable or seo friendly.

The name I am selling IS memorable and a literal description of WHAT they do. Like, their name is now, drsmithersdds.com -- and I'm selling cosmeticdentist.com.

I'm trying to come up with a way to state my case that they should...

1) buy my name, so they can...

2) have it redirect to the site they are already using, which means...

3) they do not have to give up anything they are already using -- BOTH names can lead to the same site -- the site they already have.

The people I will solicit are NOT savvy about the web, in general -- so I must state my case from the ground up.

What bullet points / benefits would you write to help me state my case?

Do you know of any sites where these points are already covered?

I found many sites that detail the importance of having the name be memorable - which IS very important, of course. But that doesn't really address the, "But I already have a domain name" thinking.

Any ideas? Bullet points?

Thanks.

I'd also like to hear if anyone else has sold a name using this I-solicit-them (out of the blue) method.

Thanks again.
