Optin form hurts clickthrough to products or sales?

I have to decide to either:
just have a CB product on the niche site, or add an optin form for a compelling offer in the sidebar PLUS the CB product.

what are your recommendations?

how can I track if the optin form hurts CTR to the CB product?

I'm not 100% sure exactly what you mean. When you refer to the CB product, do you intend to redirect the nice site to the CB product with your affiliate link? It might be best if you can link us to a website so that we can see exactly what you mean.

You won't make many sales of ClickBank products without a prominently incentivized opt-in on your landing-page.

I make my living selling ClickBank products, and promote over 30 of them in 8 different niches, but I don't usually display them on the landing-pages of my websites at all, because I can't sell them that way.

The people who buy CB products through clicking a link on my site have got to that link/page by following a link in an email I've sent them, after they've opted in and I've built a relationship with them based on a continuity-process, setting and fulfilling their expectations, earning their respect and trust, and eventually making a recommendation on the strength of which they're willing to buy because of how they feel about me, much more than because of what the product is. This is how information products are sold online.

This question shouldn't arise at all.

You won't make any sales worth talking about without list-building.

People don't generally buy ClickBank products "off the page" from clicking through to a hoplink, without having a relationship with the person recommending the product.

The last person with whom I had a conversation in a thread here about doing that had had 3,000 visits to his hoplink/sales page, which resulted in the grand total of 4 sales (of which 2 were refunded). And I think that was probably, overall, 2 sales more than many people get.

There's not much to discuss, here: if you want to make money by selling ClickBank products, the primary purpose of your website should be to build your list. It's about as simple as that.

Yea if you want to have an optin and a clean sales page you're going to need some kind of way to grab your visitors information as they try to leave. I've use Wpladance, but there are a lot to chose from.

got me thinking..... I will put some opt in forms on the page again. here in germany, there is a kind of "opt in" and facebook fear....... very reluctant to opt into anything...

but if I get 100 people in it, its more worth than one CB sale...... well, I hope so....

But still, I will keep doing both ways.. some direct - click - sale affiliate link PLUS optin-forms.

I could do that with ad rotate.....

one group, two ads: one ad is a CB link, the other ad is the optin form..

after 4 weeks, I can check the stats.

quick update: running hybrid connect now on 3 sites, great tool, love it!!!

conversions are going up, but I only have approx 100 visits/day, so it will take some time for correct values..

oh, and the best: i can use "slideins", less intrusive than annyoing popsups!
