Warriors - Cash In On The Twitter Hype Before It's Too Late!

Hey guys,

Everyone's saying Twitter's hot right now - you see people talking about it everywhere (news, radio, tv etc). Oprah joined and so a lot of mainstream media is interested in it.

I've missed out on a lot of the really hot things simply because I joined IM late - the domain boom, for instance, then when Myspace was big and so on. Now Twitter is huge - just a heads up to DO SOMETHING for those that like to take action.

As an example, I was doing some research...:

Twollow.com - sold for $9,000 ($0 Revenue)

Popular Twitter app

TwtAd - sold for $6,000

twtAd.com - Twitter Advertising Network

TwitterBackgrounds - just a domain, sold for $4,000

TwitterBackgrounds.com

Twply - sold for $1,200 (One day old!)

Twply - Twitter @replies sent to Email

TwitterRibbons - sold for $975

Hot & Unique Twitter Ribbon Ad Generator + TwitterKnowHow Blog + Twitter Beginner Quiz Facebook App. For Sale!

A lot of simple startup Twitter blogs are selling in the $100 - $500 range too, while other topics aren't - because Twitter is hot right now.

I've found developers that can create apps for $30 - $100 - a very low price to pay to test out the market. You can find good programmers on forums like Digital Point, or job sites like Elance, RentACoder etc.

You can check how Twitter sites are doing by using the below search:

Marketplace Search

With the whole Oprah thing and Twitter going more mainstream, now is probably the best time to find buyers for your applications and websites. Good luck!

Has anyone else benefited from the Twitter hype?

I benefit from Twitter every day...

I grow my lists, interact and build relationships.. make sales from those interactions..

I'm playing the long game though, no need for smash and grab when it comes to building assets.....

    Peace

I see twitter at the start of it's growth at the moment. Look at facebook and myspace. Both have been around a while now and have grown 1000's times over!

I like what Jay said and although I have my own worries about the durability of Twitter thanks to the quick hitters, I wouldn't sell my domain or product for something like 10k when I can take the long approach and make 10x that.

Great strategy though for someone looking to make a quick buck for other investments.

Thanks for the reminder. There has been a twitter url that I have been meaning to pick up.

I just went and grabbed it. I have no idea what I am going to go with it but I think it is a $$$ url.

          instatwit.com

          Any suggestions?

I'm all for cashing in on Hype.

However, I think there is a lot more long term methods that aren't revolving around hype, spammy techniques, or building a list of massive followers that marketers should focus on.

I wonder if my domain twittertreasure.com is worth anything?

As usual, Jason is right. Twitter is going to be around for a long time and the long term approach is going to serve you best. Building the "You" brand, building up a reputation and trust is key.

I saw someone earlier on send out 17 messages to the Twitter timeline promoting the same "16,000 followers in 90 days" clickbank message that is driving me nuts right now. There is so much lost potential here is is insane.

There are many warriors on Twitter who are generating new business for their services every day by building solid reputations. Dana, Tiffany Dow are just a couple I can think of off the top of my head.

I do very well with Twitter for my business and I used it to subtly promote my sites and products without the "Spam" effect and I am looking to use this as a long term relationship builder with my followers.

Just my 2c on the subject.

        Sean

Holy crap, I had to do a double-take on Jason. Almost thought it was Frank Kern, lol. I need to go to sleep!

Agree with Jay. Why make a quick buck now when you can make much more latter? Concentrate on the long term.
