ecommerce website hosting question

Hi,
I have couple ecommerce websites are hosted by the big guy (godaddy, not sure I can mention their name or not, if not, please remove my post). All of sites use their shared hosting plan. Recently I noticed the responses time for my sites are very slow. Should I switch to not shared hosting plan, or different hosting company?
Thanks for your suggestions.

Honestly man, Godaddy is balls and only to be used for real noobs lol. I recommend host gator. Their the best for shared hosting IMO and their support is pretty decent with easy access to live chat and phone calls 24/7.

    just my IMO tho

Well VPS's suck at hostgator. I find their shared and Dedicated to be good though, but for what he needs I think the baby plan would be way more than enough.

I've been hearing alot about subtle changes taking place at HostGator since they've been purchased out by EIG. The same group that owns BlueHost. Not necessarily for the better customer wise. I'm sure they're looking to get their 225 million payback as quickly as possible by streamlining and improving productivity.

Going with the Walmart of hosting has its good and bad points, but there are tons of excellent providers out there that will offer quicker support and more personal attention for only a slight difference in price. So I would take companies like HostGator as just one of many good options.

Furthermore, unless you're running just a few simple sites, you should really step up and get at least a VPS. I wouldn't trust my ecommerce site, long term, to a shared hosting plan where the need for resources are critical.

Hostgator is honestly for newbies, as well -- ones that don't know any better, and are victims of fake "top 10" lists. It's just an EIG brand, and those are not very good. There are better hosts. The industry is much larger than Godaddy, 1&1, and 50+ EIG companies.

For ecommerce sites, look at the Stablehost enterprise plans. Those run smooth for meaty apps (Magento, for example). The enterprise plan is the same as a "semi dedicated" plan. It's as powerful as a VPS, but no mgmt required.

I'd recommend WireedTree. I've used them for the past 5 years, amazing 24/7 support and I think we've had downtime once?
