Links and Blog Commenting

Can someone explain how blog commenting generates links? Have commented on a many blogs; however, sometimes when I fill out name, email address, and website the comment does not post on the blog. However, when I only fill out name and email address then comment will post to the blog. Do some site owners not want website links posted in the comment sections of their blogs?

Anybody have any tips or tricks on how to build link juice to get more people to visit your blog?

It could be because Akismet has labeled your site url as a spam url. You may need to contact Akismet to have your url removed from their spam list.

It generates links when your comments are published with a link to your site.

    Yes, that sometimes happens.

Blog-owners tend to moderate the comments, and publish only what they want to publish.

Some people will even automatically delete anything with a link on the assumption that it's spammy, and therefore unwelcome. It's their site and they get to make up the rules.

It's not about link juice. It's mostly about traffic.

The idea is that you comment on relevant blogs which have traffic that you'd like to visit your site, because of the context-relevance.

The backlink is only an afterthought. All that can do is gradually help you to get a bit of SEO traffic, but that's not going to be nearly as good as traffic direct from relevant blogs, is it?

The important thing is to post in a way that adds value, so that the blog-owner will like your comment and want to publish it.

      This.

Add value by getting involved in real discussions. This is another reason why I encourage people to work in markets they either a) are an expert, b) have some real experience, or c) both

A simple blog comment that I posted recently resulted in a podcast which then led to a joint venture.

Avoid the temptation to post keywords as your name. Just post your real name. Oh, and don't spend all day simply seeking out blogs to post on. Just let it happen naturally. You should be investing your time towards working on your own property.

Look for blogs using the "commentluv" plugin. The plugin automatically links back to your last blog post so you don't have to try and get a link in the actual comment. There's another one called "Keyword Luv" that allows you to put some anchor text after your name that's hyperlinked. Good and REAL comments though are always the best option.

Blog commenting got way spammy a few years ago.... So, many site owners are indeed not allowing you to post links via comments.

Getting solid blog comment links requires lots of research (only focus on authority sites relevant to your niche) and a ton of effort... You need to get the law of large numbers on your site to be effective. If you publish 1000 comments with your URL, some percentage of those will indeed turn into backlinks.

Distributing Press Releases can get you backlinks, writing articles, publishing web 2.0 properties (tumblr, squidoo, etc).

But, the quality of your copy is the most important part... Stay focused on creating and publishing high quality content and the backlinks will appear.

Take your ' blog commenting'....put in on steroids, and you'll get.... 'content syndication'.

Then you have just about the best method for generating targeted traffic to your sites that there is.

Find authoritative blogs and sites in your niche, and offer to provide the site owner with your quality content that they can post on their site. It's a win-win for both of you.

The site own get quality content added to his site, and you get to put a link/s in your content, which generates targeted traffic back to your site/s

Hint: Suck up "me too" comments are not going to cut it. Develop a reputation as someone who will ask tough questions, call it as he sees it, and quote relevant information. Anything else is spam. And yes, use your name not a kw.
