[BEGINNER QUESTION] - Using Google for Lead Generation

Hi, I've been creeping for a while. I've identified an industry that I want to market to. I can find lots of possible leads via Google, but 10 at a time. How can I get a list of hundreds or thousands of these websites based on my search terms? Once I have the websites, how can I generate names, numbers and email addresses? I am willing to pay, I just would like to know the most cost effective way to do this fro experienced members.

Thanks!

Hey good to know you have found a way to generate leads from Google. If you want the name, numbers and email addresses I will suggest direct mailing. They provide age, income, demographics, numbers ,names, email etc.

Just do a Google search. Hope this help.

That's not a great thing to suggest, here, Omane. It's something you might want to be a little careful about.

Like many people, the Forum isn't too keen on the idea of sending out bulk unsolicited email. (I'm putting it terribly tactfully and discreetly, there - openly condoning it and advising people about how to do it is actually considered a banning offense!).

Sending mass email to email addresses "scraped" from the web is also illegal.

      I'm "just saying".

Get on Adwords and place ads on their Display/Content Network using Keyword and Site targeting.

Drive traffic to a lander that offers valuable content and also asks for the opt-in (name, email, and whatever else you need).

If doing B2B, white papers work well. Either way, offer something valuable in return for the opt-in.

Keep in mind that in lead gen; the more info you ask for - the more reluctant people are to give it.

Great advise! I would do the same. Don't scape or buy email online, it's just wrong. Use proper list building methods and create your own email list.
Create a landing page and just send massive traffic to it.

Other than adwords, you can try solo-ads too. They are highly effective in building a list and it works fast too.

  • You'll need to think a bit out of the box. Spamming local businesses with a sales pitch is, as Alexa pointed out, a HELL NO, and a great way to get your isp canned.

That being said, you CAN take the information you get from Google a bit further and find their mailing address. Most businesses get so much mail everyday that they won't be offended by another advertisement. Just make sure your ad stands out.

Send them an eye-catching post card with a headline asking a question about something your prospect needs. Insert some proof elements like a snipped of a testimonial. Then offer something for free. Don't forget to leave your number, and you will start to get phone calls before you know it.

    Good Luck!
