How can I make money from this?

I have a site that is very information rich. In this niche not very many businesses have quality content rich sites. So my site performs very good in the SERPS. I'm not exaggerating here... Probably 1 out of every 10 people building a new site in this niche steal my content to some degree. Most a few pages. Some bother to spin them a bit. Others just copy and paste it into their site. And still others even have the gal to steal the entire site (some 40+ pages) word for word.

I have the copyright from the copyright office. For a long while I tracked every person down and forced them to remove their site. It's gotten so bad I have just given up now. Still though I do not want to offer such a thing for a cost. A few hundred duplicate sites maybe google can keep tack of. But if it goes over that google may loose site of the original publisher of said words.

So... There has to be some way to make some money off these content stealers?

I chose entrepreneurship over further education despite being laughed at by my friends and family..

I recently hit the "RESTART" button on my life, read my personal blog to find out how I did it :)

Contact a lawyer that is involved in copyright law in your area. See what he has to say. Bet these people don't have a lot of money for you to sue them for however, maybe they will not be able to steal or use your content.

    This happens every where.
I suggest you forget about it and make your site more unique with more good content.
You can't stop people from stealing your content.
Its not easy to follow them legally as they are spread across the globe.

I think it is very difficult for you to track down any content thieves because thieves ubiquitous content and very much at all.
So better you load money in other ways such as adsense or affiliate programs.

    Cheers,

Also, in order for you to sue someone...IF a suit is filed it has to be filed in their location...I learned this from experience...

But no one answered your question did they..."can you make money off them?" Unlikely.

You do not want to sue them and you do not want money for the contents. You can not stop them from stealing your content but you can ask them to link back to you website. It will increase the value of your website in Google ranking and of course more visitors.

The others are right. There's nothing you can do to stop it. And trying to wipe all of them out is like a starlet trying to get that topless photo off of the Internet. If you'd like to see how successful that is, try searching for "Pam and Tommy video". That little clip was posted several years ago.

What you can do will depend somewhat on how they are stealing your content. The ones who rewrite somewhat aregoing to be tough to monetize, because they are likely stripping out any links and replacing them with their own. About all you can do is serve your takedown notices when they get to be a nuisance.

I would wager that most of them are stealing via RSS feed, aka 'autoblogging'. Your defense here is to set your feed for snippets only, linked back to your site. If you're using Wordpress, a plugin to make sure your links are embedded in the feed will help. It's not direct monetization, but it will help by getting links from at least marginally related sites.

I would try and track them, if you use wordpress there are plugins to block certain ips, also if they are mainly from certain countries (eg china) you can use a plugin called geo redirect.
