The answer really depends on what your site is about. For example, it would be pointless advertising a site about poetry on a cooking blog.

    What's your site about?

P.S - the methods you listed above are effective, it the reason I ask what is your site about is so that Warrios can give you their experiences within that niche.

I chose entrepreneurship over further education despite being laughed at by my friends and family..

I recently hit the "RESTART" button on my life, read my personal blog to find out how I did it :)

Thanks to everyone for your answers. I'm looking at 2 niches,

      1. Health 'n' fitness selling both digital and physical products using affiliate marketing until I create my own product

      2. Creating a t-shirt/clothing company surf/skate/snowboard style with a friend selling our own products. We're thinking of the name 'AIM' as we want to put some of the profits towards charitable uses. E.g. creating a sensory garden for kids with learning difficulties for example, or buliding a local music creation centre where kids can be creative.

      3. Also I work part time doing and learning sales/marketing for an acrylic fabrication company so need to know online maketing strategies

And yes I know you need to be niche specific most of the time when advertising

I think both niches would work great on social media sites. You can also use Pinterest - you can very simply create a profile and start pinning.

The best techniques are one's you're actually doing!

For me, my primary landing pages get the best results with guaranteed traffic (PPV type stuff) and solo ads.

My blog also adds about 100 or so subscribers to my list per month for free which is pretty cool, but it's a lot more work than I feel it's worth.

The time I spend on my blog almost costs me more than paid advertising. I value my time more than money for sure.

Anyways, those are my three: Guaranteed traffic, solo ads, and blogging!

Yes, all has been stated by you. But as we can really observe on the current internet trend it sounds like there are many techniques other than that. Maybe we can call it fundamentals.

    Hello ebusyness,

Yes, it really depends on the niche, though those three methods can be almost universal (provided you target sites/forums/etc. that relate to the target markets of those niches).

Additionally, consider social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn) - they, too, should have at least some members of almost any niche. Probably the best way to get them to come to you, and eventually, your squeeze page, is to build fanpages on Facebook, business site on Google+, etc., a page that specifically targets those people who would be interested in your niche.

Hope this helps - good luck!

    Take care,

    Other methods include:
    a) Guest Posting
    b) Classified Ads
    c) Slide sharing
    d) Safelists
    e) Traffic Exchanges
    f) Press Releases
    g) Give Away Events
    h) JV List Swap

But like it has been said before, it depends upon your niche. Some techniques may not work for some niche while they can be very effective in others. Good luck attracting visitors...

Yes, you could try to utilize video marketing with youtube.
It'll instantly build a more personal relationship with your potential buyers which usually will increase conversion rates.

What still works good for me is article marketing. I've been building a pretty responsive and quality list that way... and it I'm sure it has to do with subscribers being warmed up to me through my content.

Not to mention, if you do article marketing the right way, the content you write today will still be working for you way later on. As of matter of fact, I've been getting tons of traffic lately from an article I wrote 2 years ago.

That being said, I honestly haven't jumped deep into other forms of marketing, so I can't say which method is "best". But from my experience, doing some type of marketing that warms up potential subscribers before they reach your squeeze page (such as article marketing, blog marketing, forum marketing, and comment marketing) should not only help generate traffic, but also a higher quality list.

Solo Ads and YouTube have been good to me. I would also suggest starting a facebook group about your niche. This is a great way to get people to your squeeze page and also immediately allows you to build a relationship with your email list. I'm still fairly new to the internet marketing arena but it's been my limited experience so far that the more opportunities you have to build relationships early, the higher your conversion rate tends to be.
I also like the idea of integrating Pinterest. Gonna have to check that one out.

If you're squeeze page has anything to do with marketing, traffic or making money, you'll do quite well on traffic exchanges. You can get subscribers for under $0.50 with a good squeeze page.

You may need to clarify the question. Because it depends on you and what path you wnat to choose. Example: a) Paid methods - if you have a budget b) free methods - if you are a DIY type or don't have a budget.

**Try to find a blog in your niche that has good amout of traffic and contact the owner to make some posts in defined time frame, make an offer(free) to the readers if you have one or place a banner.

      Hope that might help.

I gave up on Facebook ads. In my testing, Facebook was too expensive and I did not like the quality. I have much better results with Google Ads and Microsoft Adcenter.

Use paid ads at Facebook. It is really targeted traffic because you advertise to certain groups. And it's cheaper than Adwords.

The best way are obviously the free methods (google, forum, youtube etc) as they are free

But these methods are time consuming.

If you want fast results, go for solo ads or ppc

    Cheers,
