Are You Comfortable Knowing?.....

[IM niche warriors]

Are you comfortable knowing that many of the people you sell your product to will probably still do nothing with it, still be struggling to build a business.. and still think that there is a magic button out there that will make them rich.

No matter how much you stress that smart and hard work is all that is required, they still won't let it sink in...

Regardless of how detailed you are with your product creation, they will still be looking at the next shiny thing, hoping that the fix is going to come...

Are we responsible as product creators to deal with this?...

Aren't we simply facilitating a drug euphoria type fix, indirectly encouraging crazy spending, because of an addiction that grabs a hold of people and we each stand in line to take money. No matter how much we put into laying things out for them.. some will just churn and burn you and your product in search of that high..

In search of that rush, that buzz, that excitement that builds itself from hope.. and then the stark reality when the crash comes afterwards. The realisation that they actually have to learn this thing and put it into practice... so they forget it and go looking AGAIN...

Do you feel responsible in this giant clusterf*** of desperation?...

Think about it, how many of your customers say that they have bought XYZ of products and they all "didn't work"..

I've only been creating a few months and I've heard it plenty.. so many people have been buying products left, right and center to "find something that works"...

Do you think YOUR product (no matter how detailed and factual it is) is going to be next in line for the person who is jumping for a new high, secret button?

I'm not preaching, I'm just asking questions... thought it would make for an interesting discussion..

I'm not saying you should feel responsible, I'm not trying to tell you what to do or get above my station....I'm just putting it out there...

Love ya warriors

Peace

Jay

I think if you believe you honestly created good detailed product and you know it works if people will put in the effort needed to make money, then I'm comfortable with what ever happens after that.

The quest for the "gold at the end of the rainbow" mindset is one that happens in a lot of places other than IM. Its just human nature for some people. All ways has been, always will be. There will be those who will rise to the occasion and suceed and there will be those who will try it for a couple days and move on to the next new thing, never putting in enough time to make any system work.

I don't feel responsible at all for any desperation because I was once not to long ago in the same place many people are with IM. Once you actually get to work, it's amazing at what can happen.

At the end of the day if a product I created is good and honest, then I've doen all I can do besides personally working with some one confused about something or the one calling it a scam Stupid phrase but it's true that "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink"

I never do IM training in order to make money, only to help others succeed, because it honestly is very easy once you wrap your head around it.

So yes it irks me quite a bit. I hate seeing good talent go to waste and love helping others succeed a lot more than the money I get out of it.

It irks me even more if I see others selling IM products to make money for themself and not giving a shit about the customer.

As I know you to a degree, I know that your stuff is good and always done with best intentions. I think we just have to accept that some people will just never put stuff into action. Some of this comes from the illusion that Internet Marketing is easy money...well, it is, when you know how and after a lot of work to get there.

We've all been there and bought stuff thinking it will have magic in it which will get us to that next level, but after a while people need to realise that the basics are in front of you, it just takes some work.

That's a good question. I don't create MMO products, but will be shortly. The problem with many of these products I think, is that much of what makes people successful are the nuances that are very difficult to teach. The systems are easy, but the nuances are difficult to master. However, even if you motivate someone to take action just a little, you are pushing them in the right direction. Not everyone will make it, but that isn't your fault.

Sure, you might be giving them a fix, but that's the nature of business. People will buy what makes them happy, might as well have it be your product.

        Jay,

You can provide all the tools, advice, motivation and enthusiasm that you want, however, success does not come from an e-book. Success does not come from writing articles, doing PPC or whatever form of traffic generation your prescribe to.

Success comes from an individual's mindset and from what action they decide to take. If you want, you could mentor everyone, provide daily help and advice and give them the best tools at your disposal. Hell you could even give someone a website that is currently making $5000 a month. However, some people will still be able to turn that into a failure.

I would guess 80% of success is down to an individual's attitude. If someone has the wrong attitude, then there is nothing you can do about it. You may even produce a fantastic product about how to motivate yourself, how to have the right attitude to succeed and yet again many will never get past the first chapter! You cannot make someone a success, that comes from within...and there's only so much you can do!

        Cheers

At the end of the day, you're not forcing them to buy your product. And if yours wasn't out there, they'd buy another, possibly inferior one instead.

Is Jeep comfortable that most of their customers will never take their 4WD off-road?

Is the gym comfortable that most of their customers don't work out as often as they should?

Are authors comfortable that most people never actually read the books they buy?

As creators we create. We do the best job we can. What people do with it is up to them.

I'd love more of my customers to take action -- The one's that do make serious cash. And I always provide after-sale service to help out where I can.

But I'm not losing sleep over the people who do nothing.

Here is what I am responsible for:

      1. To create the best product that I possibly can that if used properly, will
      produce results.

      2. To be honest with my customers.

      3. To provide support where needed.

Other than that, I am in no way responsible for lazy people who expect to
push a button and have $100 bills fall from the sky.

In other words...I sleep very well at night.

Feel free to mail me a promo link Kevin

You see, you're the kind of guy I'm thinkin' bout... Your stuff is hardcore laid out for people, idiot proof you might say... the kind of thing I aim for in my products too..

And yet, the virtual ATM that you lay down for folks, will still be ignored...

Makes me a little sick that people might get all they ever need, yet they will probably write it off quicker than it takes to read and absorb it...

        Peace

        Jay

p.s. Thanks again to all warriors for your thoughts on this, great stuff

I don't do MMO products but the seller's concerns should be:

Is the product accompanied by instructions that are clearly written and appropriate for the target market's skill level?

Does the product perform as promised if it's utilized properly? Has it actually produced measurable results more than once?

Are you advertising to the proper target market? If your sales pages promises "anyone can do this" the product and instructions need to reflect that. If some technical skill is involved, be honest about it.

Do you provide the level of support you promise in the sales letter?

If you've done that - you're good to go.

We control how we market our product, what we promise, and that the product does what we claim when implemented correctly. We can't be responsible for how others use it - we don't have that level of control nor should we.

If I give you a car, does that guarantee you'll drive it?

As a seller of information your duty is to provide the best information you can.
But you can't force feed it down their throats and MAKE them implement.

Anyone who says "all these products I bought didnt work" either
    1. never opened the box
    or
    2. never committed to taking action CONSISTENTLY

    Do I ever feel responsible?
Nope...As long as i'm giving the best information i can give..

And remember - people who just like to buy stuff are going to continue
    to buy stuff.
So...they might as well be buying from me ;-)

When I first started selling my scripts I looked close to see how many sites I could find in google by searching for the "powered by" text the scripts have in them.

At first I was really bothered by the fact that almost no one who bought my product was actually using it.

However, I soon realized that my responsibility is to create the product and give the customer what they need in order to use it properly. It is not my responsibility to make sure they actually do something with it.

I have had several people who were totally shocked when I mention how low my projected number of customers actually using my product really is, but then again those who also sell software products report about the same figures when I discuss it with them.

As product creators, of any kind, our main responsibility is to provide quality products that give real solutions. What someone does with that after they purchase is their own personal responsibility, not ours.

My products are pretty much exactly as they are described to be and make no wild unfounded claims about income, quitting your day job, etc. That being said, I don't feel sorry for people looking for a quick easy buck without doing any work. If you're too lazy to do the work, you might as well dream and read ebooks about how to get rich without working.

I like to provide good content and feel great that I know I'm helping people, but I used to be a serial buyer, and did not focus, so I am well aware of the problems newbies have in just doing one thing at once.

It's like you're teaching them how to walk, and they start off beautifully, but then they see someone river dancing. They try to do it, mess up, then give up - until they find something else to buy.

If you know that you are providing good info and service, then you have nothing to worry about. In fact I'm a perfectionist and sometimes spend a long time tweaking something even when someone else has written or designed it.

I know the gurus tell you not to make stuff perfect, but I'm from a design background - I can't help it. And I LOVE it!

Me too and I still don't understand the not making it perfect bit. I've seen some embarrassing stuff put out by gurus and I don't get it.
