Multi-Author Blog - What to consider?

Hello guys and girls, I am considering changing my Internet Marketing blog in to a multi-author blog however I realise I will have to consider the competition although from an internal perspective I am concerned and curious as to what I would need to offer authors to be a part of my blog and ensure that they are there for the long haul.

Questions I want to ask you, or discussions I want to create are;

How would I go about finding these quality writers for my blog?

What sort of incentives could I offer them, what do other popular multi-author blogs offer?

Do you think its a good idea to go from a blog that I have run for approximately one year and a half to a multi-author blog?

Thanks
Will.

    Hi, WillyBoy104:

I found today this link (maybe you already know it):

35 Tips Tricks To Manage and Handle Multi-Author Blogs

It has a lot of plugins and insights that will help you with your project.

If you (or someone else) know more about multi-author blogs, it would be of great help :-)

Thanks and sorry about my horrible inglés. I'm from España.

    Hi Will,

If you focus on attracting authors who know the value of content, author bios and backlinks, then these sorts of folks will be happy to write guest articles for those perks. In other words, focus on finding writers who're promoting using content, such as bloggers, people who submit to article directories and similar.

Indeed, those are the same places you can find these folks.

Go to places like EzineArticles.com, read the articles in your niche and find some of the best and most prolific writers. If they're already using EA, then you don't have to "sell" them too hard on the idea of guest blogging.

Second, check out the other bloggers in your niche. Start with those you know. Run Google searches to find those you don't yet know. Follow blogrolls and trackbacks to uncover still others.

That's one idea. It'll work if the bloggers you're working with are interested in promoting themselves with blog articles.

Now, what if that's not the case? Or what if you'd like to attract some high quality writers, but you don't want to give writers the opportunity to promote themselves and their products on your blog?

Then you might consider some sort of revenue-sharing model. (Or you might just pay them up front per article -- like a magazine.)

Right off hand, I'm not sure of how the logistics work for revenue-sharing, so I'll let someone else address that (if you decide to go that route).

    Cheers,
    Becky
