lol im know im such a noob for asking this, but i do actually have a good reason...

my AWeber account was supended because of an affiliate link that i inserted into one of my emails. They labeled it as a link that is "hard to work with". So does that mean no affiliate links?

Can you put affiliate links in your email messages sent using AWeber?

What was the affiliate offer? That seems rather strange to me, actually.

Yes you can. Plenty of folks, including myself, promote affiliate links via Aweber.

You may just want to contact them and ask them for some clarity.

    Hello nicolasmd2112,

Please report back to us and clarify - I have NEVER heard of AWeber suspending an account because of an affiliate link. It's virtually commonplace to my knowledge. Almost every Internet marketer I know does affiliate marketing as part of his/her promotional efforts.

I'm very curious why your account was suspended - please report back in when you have an answer - thanks!

    Take care,

      I have, actually, Joe.

I've seen people have similar problems.

Wisely and rightly, Aweber won't tolerate affiliate links to things like illegal "cash gifting" scams.

I don't suggest that that was necessarily Nicolas' problem, at all, of course (I hasten to mention!), but they do have terms of service, and they enforce them and won't have their facilities abused for illegal purposes of the type that sometimes rear their ugly heads in some "Make Money Online" niches.

Nicolas, in the broader perspective, I think all the collective problems you experience, about which you start off threads here, relate directly or indirectly to the "niche" you've chosen.

I don't mean it rudely but it makes little sense, as a newb, to be trying to teach people about making money online from something from which you're not yourself making money, and effectively trying to teach people whose levels of knowledge/experience are typically higher than your own. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7974643

A slow, careful, thoughtful read through this thread might help you greatly, I think, to appreciate why you'd be (at least) ten times as likely to make a living from "skating" as from "trousers".

Never come across this before... ever. Let us know Nicolas as I'd be interested to know why once you get some better feedback from Aweber.

I heard of similar problems from other marketers too.

I don't think aweber will banned you for affiliate links but i heard it's getting stricter. Most marketers i know have started migrated to Getresponse.

Maybe you like to contact them to get your acc back and clarify with them what's the issue, and let us understand better.

In reply to all of your questions about why this has happened,

I was recently contacted by a support member, and they explained to me that the reason why may account was suspended, was because the affiliate link i used had been banned because of past spam issues. I replied to this by asking for someway, ANYWAY, for me to receive a list of sites that AWeber has the same spam problems with this .She rejected it, and said that they could not give away that information. She told me that the best way to avoid this from happening again, was to only use affiliate links that i "know". My initial reaction, was "Um, ok?" just because I know a link, doesn't mean that AWeber isn't having issues with it....so this really had little effect. I guess, i just have to keep testing...

In all seriousness, the person that i was emailing back and forth was very responsive, and direct (Except for that last part) and i thank her for that.

So yeah, my account was suspended, as of yesterday: April 16, 2013, it has been restored, and AWeber apologized for any inconvenience. This still doesn't answer the biggest question, will i have to go through this every time AWeber has an issue with my links? I will never know which ones they like and dislike, so we'll see...

I'd be very careful about promoting any products in the IM/MMO markets because they seem to be the ones with the most problems. So when the rep told you that you should "know" it...I think she's telling you to only promote products from VENDORS that you know and have a working relationship with. Don't promote something just because it pays well. Know what I'm saying?

I would contact them and explain the situation

You could also try shortening the link or putting a tracking ID? Perhaps that helps

I def. have an affiliate link in the first of my auto response emails so this has nothing to do with the fact that is an affiliate link but rather something to do with the link itself. I highly recommend calling Aweber on the phone, I frequently argue that they have THE BEST phone customer service of any company I have ever dealt with.

If you have to wait on the phone for a few minutes to speak with someone it is worth it, they will spend as much time with you as necessary resolving any number of issues or questions you may have!
