Best theme/solution for displaying huge images in wordpress

Does anybody have any experience in displaying very big images in wordpress. Both width and length can be up to 4000 pixels.

The 'standard' solution is where you click on a smaller image to see the full size. But when the full sized image is displaying, I still want there to be share buttons and comments, not just the image.

any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

4000 px width and height is huge. The file size would be enormous, and the page would take an age to load.

Just curious why you need the pics that big? Visitors would only be able to view part of the pic. Then they'd have to scroll both vertical and horizontal. It would not be a great experience.

      Agreed.

I personally wouldn't find it a good experience to view images that big. You can probably take a look on Theme Forest as they do have some large image size themes but you'd have to look more into it to suit your needs.

But just like Myles mentioned the loading time could take a long time and wouldn't be a good experience in my opinion.

Just to be clear, they aren't 4000 x 4000 pixels. They are either wide or long, almost a bit like those infographics you see a lot. I can't make them much smaller, because that would make the text unreadable. I'm trying to find the most user friendly solution for displaying this kind of images. It's not easy.

I will be sure to take a look at themeforest and code canyon.

In your css add "max-width:100%;" to the img tag. Then it will simply adjust to whatever div you have it in.

Looks like you need to look for or develop a plugin ... that can have the Share and other things 'floating' over the post being displayed ...

I think this plug - in might suit ur need, but not sure you need to have a look and see:

WordPress › Slick Social Share Buttons « WordPress Plugins

If this doesn't help, try google for: 'floating share plugin wordpress' ... or something to that effect ... hope it helps ..
