Where to get pics for blog and is it legal?

Hi! I am somewhat of a newbie to blogging and just recently decided to create an blog
on MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). I noticed that a lot of the established blogs in this niche are
using pictures of the athletes, so I was wondering how do you know if that is legal and where
exactly do you get the pictures from? Some example blogs are: MMAMania.com, CagePotato.com, MMAJunkie.com. I just want to create a good blog without getting into any legal problems so any help would be greatly appreciated. Much Thanks!

Try using pics from stock sites. Some of these do offer pics free or else you can have them for as low as $1 per picture

I use www.dreamstime.com they have a huge library of pictures, you might find what you want there and they are very cheap, then you know you are not doing anything illegal.

There are the stock photo sites that you pay for (istockphoto.com dreamstime.com etc) and a few free ones that have decent content:
FreeFoto.com - Free Pictures - FreeFoto.Com
stock.xchng - the leading free stock photography site
http://morguefile.com/

Also, a lot of images from wikipedia are free for use, but you have to read the license.

Just make sure your not going around all willy-nilly "borrowing" other peoples images, it can cause problems for you in the future.

Just contact either the fighter in question, or the MMA association and get permission to use their material.

For example, if you wanted pics of Fedor, you can either contact him (good luck, he doesn't speak english) or you can get ahold of Affliction (the people who have him under contract) to get the necessary go ahead to use those pics.
