Are Google Search Results Consistant Around The World

Does anyone know if Google search results are always the same across different countries around the world.

I have an affiliate review site - PianoForAllReview.co.uk.

In the UK, this site is currently on page one of Google in position 2 of the natural search results for the search phrase "Piano for all review" (broad search).

Could anyone outside the UK try a search for the phrase and see if my site is roughly in the same position?

It would be good to know that it is receiving the same exposure worldwide.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Phil

No they are not - they are geo-targeted and in addition, there are other factors, for example, personal preferences, that also affect rankings.

No ... by no means. As Will says, they depend both on search-location and on browser history.

Yes, it is for me, also. Page 1, position 2, in a search made on google.co.uk

In a search made from the UK on google.com, it's in third position.

You need someone in the US to tell you where it is for them, perhaps?

To answer your question, it is common for search results to vary from country to country and even IP address to IP address on the same block in your city. Google modifies search results depending on search history and geographic region.

In this case, a Google search from Cambodia (where I currently live) returns your website at position #3, just below a YouTube video (which most likely appears and disappears).

A search via a US proxy returns your website at position #10 and from the UK at position #2.

Thanks to all of you for your help. That was certainly an education for me.

I guess when analysing a keyword to base a review site on I should only look at the local search results from the Google adwords keyword tool as a more accurate guide to whether the keyword is likely to be profitable.

I also should have said "good job".

Also it looks to me like the sites listed above you are all easy competition except one that may be medium to high competition.

(From the U.S. from my computer with no "piano" browsing history of any kind. )

      Thanks RogueOne and Janice Sperry.

It's good to know that my site is somewhere near the top of the searches in the USA.

It'll be interesting to see how it does in other parts of the world if I get any more replies.

I didn't realise how much it could vary. Makes it difficult to be really sure how a review site will do if you can only see your own countries results and even these in my case will be biased in favor of me as I have been researching piano in the development of the site.

I suppose the only sure way is to over do the SEO so that it beats almost everything!

Or develop independent sources of traffic.

Always a good idea, regardless of search results or traffic.
