As much as I know there is nothing you can do about this, you are not
allowed to contact them if they don't confirm their subscription.

If they don't confirm within 30 days (I think) Aweber remove them from your list.

Yea I can confirm that within 30 days of them having the pending status, they get deleted.

Heh, yea I learned that lesson the hard way. single optins are the way to go. I rarely double optin unless I really need to do it.

Yes, the deafault is "Confirm On" but you can turn off the confirmation required in Aweber when you set up the form.

Aweber suggests using confirmed opt-in so people won't give fake addresses.

But if you tell them their "opt-in gift" will be emailed to them they will give a valid (if rarely used) email to be able to receive the gift.

Just FYI, I set my list to single opt-in, and I still have a few which say that there is a confirmation pending. Another thread here on the WF helped me understand what that was.

    So let's see.....

If I choose to set single opt in but aweber
stilll asks for confirmation, does this mean I can't
    email them?

    This is a rhetorical question.

I can still broadcast emails to those awaiting confirmation.

    Try it, you'll see.

Whether you use single or double you have to set the expectation up front. If you give instant access to content right after they input their email, you'll get more fake emails. If you make it clear that the content will be emailed to them, this will increase your rate of getting real emails that you can use for email marketing to.
