Market tips for a software

I'm developing a desktop application and was looking for some advices to market it out. I really like some marketing materials of some products posted here - for instance, that one single image advertisement that highlights all the features of the product, screen shots, etc... and was wondering if there is some kind of template to develop such marketing material.

I'm hoping that there is some kind of template for such promotion material as they are very common here and in other forums as well.

    You could try doing a "simple" version of your product with limited functionality and offer it up for free on download sites like CNET. User gets the tool to use for no cost, and if they want full functionality they have to pay for upgrade (sends them to your site for upgrade).

      Thanks for the reply. I don't think CNET will approve my app as it will have scrape capability. It's more like an app that will be advertised here in WF.

        Oh well if that is the case then give out some free review copies to some warriors that make it their business to review products for people. After that do a pre launch wso to stir up some interests, and BAM! there you go.

          I'm guessing that they used some kind of template? I see a bunch of WSOs here using this kind of promotional material.
