well i personally don't like the idea of having a dotless domain name system, but google and ICANN is considering it..

"If it gets it, Google wants to turn .search into a "dotless domain," the company told ICANN a few days ago. Last year, Google applied to manage the .app, .blog, .cloud and .search generic top-level domain (gTLD) names as part of a major expansion of the domain-name system."

    That MIGHT harm lots of .com brands. I wonder what the impact of this will be on domain prices and speculation.

    Dont think it will have any impact, unless these domains start to be gives preferential ranking.

    If you have an existing .com that has good content that helps people, that will continue to be the case, just that there may be a lot of other sites out there that are 'noise' trying to steal your sites thunder.

    Google wants site owners to provide great content, so it's not likely to do something that would damage that goal.
