Why is an email list so valuable?

Hi Guys,
I am brand new to online marketing, WF and War Room. So I apologize if this question is dumb. But can someone explain to me why an email list is so important. Obviously, it is because you have a large audience whom you can market to. But... how do you actually make money with the list. I keep hearing people talk about the importance of the list, can someone break it down for me.

Thanks!

    Hi

An email list allows you to keep a ready source of warm leads that have signed up to be on your list.

When you have a list, you don't need Google or PPC for traffic- simply send an email to your list with a link and you will get traffic to that link.

A list is valuable for any business.

If you offer a service like writing, design, hair cuts or ski waxing, a list of potential and former customers lets you contact them directly to remind them of your service, tell them about special deals or offer other products and services they may be interested in.

If you produce or sell products then a list does the same thing- provide you with a steady source of leads.

A list works in any niche.

You can also build a list simply for the purpose of maintaining and monetizing the list itself an whatever niche you choose.

There are a number of ways to make money with a list.

One way is to promote your own products. If you create ebooks or courses, then a list gives you a group of people to market to directly. You can send emails alerting them of an upcoming product, pre-selling and promoting the product and then getting a big whack of traffic on launch day because your list is prepared and waiting for your offer.

You can also use it to make affiliate commissions. If a fellow marketer is launching a WSO that you think is good, or would benefit people on your list, you can tell your list about the new WSO and send them to the page with an affiliate link and make a return on any sales.

You can also monetize your list directly by selling solo ads and get paid by other marketers in your niche to send their offers to your list.

You can build a list passively by featuring an opt-in on your blog for readers who want more info or a free ebook. Or by building a list of buyers who have purchased products from you.

Or you can be more active and create a squeeze page designed specifically to capture email addresses with an Opt-In and send traffic directly to the squeeze page.

If you look around the forum here, you will people use lists in many different ways.

One key is to keep communicating with your list.

Another, if your list is a primary piece of your business, is to keep reinvesting some of your profit back into building and maintaining your list.

Well, I don't know if anyone on warrior forum has done it or not but I have heard that people buys email lists. So if you have a genuine email list where all leads are active then you can obviously make money from that list just selling them. Basically those how sells email lists they are not marketer, just list builders.

I hope this information is enough to understand how people makes money from email list?

A good list shouldn`t be sold. And you shouldn`t buy a list because it will be saturated. A good list of people that liked your content and opted in to find out more is a great source of new buyers when you'll find another product to launch.

Looks like you answered your own question there.

With your email list, you build a list of people that know, like and trust you, so when you recommend a product or service etc they take a look on your recommendation and hopefully buy. In your recommendation ( if it is not a product you have created) you send them via an affiliate link, which means you get paid a proportion of the sale, up to 100%. You can do ad swaps, list swaps etc

If you do not have a email list and you work hard to get traffic via SEO in Google etc, then Google changes the algorithms and your no longer ranking, then you have lost everything. And if you get traffic via CPC to make your sales, then you always have to be buying traffic ( although no harm in that as long as your conversions mean you get more back than spend!)

So once you have a response list you can recommend products on a regular basis and make a regular income, i.e. you have a sustainable business.

Results vary but a rule of thum is $1 per person per month can be your guide to income.

    Hope that helps.

The biggest problem Internet marketers have is driving traffic. There are a plethora of offers that convert which you can promote - therefore you can always make money if you have the ability drive traffic.

Having an email list of people who are interested in what you have to say gives you the ability to generate traffic at anytime just by pressing SEND. It's one of the most powerful assets you can have.

Just consider how much money people pay for advertising and you can see the value in having an email list.

Email is very valuable because you directly talk to people and no matter what they will surely see what you are talking about. It's just a matter of how you pitch your email and let your reader check what you are sharing.

    It isn't dumb at all.

It's one of the most important and significant things you can ask about.

Email lists are so important because they allow you to build relationships with people and gradually earn their respect and trust, and those are the major factors involved in the buying-decisions of so many people (in other words "it's where the money is").

My perspective is that of "the affiliate marketer" (though that perspective also overlaps with many others in IM). Most of the long-term income in affiliate marketing comes, collectively, in three ways ...

    (i) By branding yourself, establishing credibility and trust as a "recommender" of products and services, to people who buy them on the strength of your recommendations

(ii) By making repeated sales to the same customers, who trust you more and more every time they buy something you've recommended (because you never let them down)

(iii) By keeping traffic returning to the site/sales-page/whatever (because very few people buy anything at their first visit, so you obviously have to have a way of keeping them coming back, which means "regular contact with them")

Without your lists, you can't do any of those three things.

No lists ----> no secure income: it's kind of "Affiliate Marketing 101" - Without Building a List, How Consistent is Your Income from Affiliate Marketing

    Yes, I think so.

If you're willing to invest an hour or so of your time reading eight little threads, I think you'll find that between them they answer that question pretty comprehensively (and probably a few others, too!).

    Here they are ...

Well i will explain this in some simple words.

When you collect your list its totally a targeted audience like "making money online". You need to first build a trust relationship with them. Offer some free techniques or books before you sell them anything.

If you have for example 1000 subscriber of this niche and you promote similar products to them. Conversion rate in this list should be 10% and you will convert 100 of them. Now calculate how much you will make.

Email marketing is for patients marketers.

Build quality list + build relationship = Make money

    All the best

Just build an email list and you'll know automatically how valuable it is.

  • Because, in marketing, you need an AUDIENCE to market to. A mailing list provides just that.

Email lists are so valuable because you don't have to wait for potential customers to come to you(via a website etc...) you can go to them anytime during the day or night. Once they're on your list you can fire off an email for a new product, service, what have you and get a good $$ turn around that same day/night. Also you can filter out the buyers and non-buyers to get a good estimate for future buys. Having to go through the google/bing dance to rank websites(which can take months to years) or try and grab attention on facebook takes a lot more effort.
