Can anyone recommend a good free exit pop up?

All the ones I have found in my 4 hour search though the internet are either very 90's, work on timers - not on exit as they claim, or cost $77.

A good free one would be great.

I just want one that works on exit and can be editable with either WYSIWYG or HTML - oh and a Wordpress Plugin.

Thanks

They are really only for the kind of site where the general public who aren't usually bombarded with them are visiting.. It means if they aren't interested in your offer you can offer a freebie in return for their email and build a list..

I have used this script in a couple websites: onbeforeunload="return 'Your special discount'". I haven't even heard about premium exit pop ups.

      People who need a haircut.

When they pull out their hair it saves them going to the hairdressers.

Long shot but have you tried hiring a programmer from Odesk or freelancer and asking them to write a script for you. It is basic programming form what i know,

Try it but make sure they fully understand what it is you need before you hire anyone the best way is to show them an example

this shouldnt cost you more than $15-20

That's nutty when you can buy a pre-built one for that, with all the bugs worked out. I think Popup Domination has a sale on now, don't they?

How about an opt-in pop + an exit pop up? Pm me if you're interested

Yes! This comes in handy with Optimize Press theme, though the feature is very standard.

Lol @Daniel & Alexa... Do you not think that they are worth using on a squeeze page???

Call me a skepchick, but I think many people who give it a try and see how it goes notice that some people opt in to it, and they assume from that, that they're benefitting from using it (obviously not a valid assumption, because they're not allowing for the larger number of people who would otherwise have returned another time and opted in, but no longer do so, once they've seen the pop-up). In other words, as is quite common in internet marketing (hence the none-too-impressive "success-rates") it's really easy to get this one wrong. That's for "opt-in, exit pop-ups", of course.

For "discount exit pop-ups", the one thing that an exit-offer does is that it ensures that almost nobody will ever return and pay the full price. Since comparatively few people buy anything much at their first visit to a sales page anyway, the overwhelming majority are going to see it, and it can cost you a lot of money just for that reason. And that it isn't even the main way it can cost you money. Some customers may also instinctively dislike it a lot because they feel that the discount price is the "real price for which you're willing to sell it" and that you were "trying to fool them with the first price shown" and weren't completely honest about it. As a full-time ClickBank affiliate, making about 80% of my living from promoting others' ClickBank products, sales pages with those are a complete non-starter for me. Like many pro-affiliates, it's the first or second thing I test on every sales page I look at, and as soon as I see it, I'm gone and looking at someone else's product instead.

I don't use squeeze pages, because every single time I've split-tested them against non-squeeze-page opt-ins (which I've done often, in completely different niches), over a 6-month period each time, it's turned out that using squeeze pages has cost me quite a lot of money. That's for the reasons explained here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7939758

Call me judgmental, but I must admit that I also instinctively think there's something pretty silly (and even perhaps slightly offensive, to some?) about using an exit opt-in pop-up on a squeeze page, too - I must be mistaken about that, though, because all the people doing that have of course "tested" it (they imagine it was a "test", anyway) and found that some people do opt in to it, and concluded that it "must", therefore, be helping them, overall!! Here's hoping that all my competitors think that, anyway.

I'm inclined to think that the old style grey javascript box is fine. I never used to be a lover of exit pops, but I can see that they convert. Whenever I see them I tend to stay on the page to see if they are going to give me a better deal. Maybe I'm not the only person that thinks this way
