Proxy Setup In Browser Help

I just wondered if someone could school me on the best way to use a proxy?

I'm using Firefox and going to options, advanced, settings, choosing manul proxy config, then entering in my dedicated proxy and port and wahla! Everything seems fine.

I wasn't sure about using foxy proxy for firefox, although it would be way more convenient, I heard that some sites can still see your original ip.

Does anyone have some advice if I'm doing it the most optimal way, or is their a better way to be even more hidden?

    that's pretty much it.

    some hosts are able to recognize proxy usage, but doesn't mean that you aren't secure. They just know that there is a proxy.

    What important is what proxy you are using and if you trust it.
