Hire a VA by the week?

This isn't an offer, this is a business model question.

I have a question about hiring a (Philippino?) VA - is it possible to only hire the VA for one week? Or possibly a week by week basis?

If so, what is a fair wage? The work would be basic web research, very chill.

Would it be hard getting it right the first time?

    I've used plenty VA's through odesk. In my experience, you get what you pay for. Interview before hiring, you'll know quickly if they can get the job done or if you're going to have to redo everything. You can pay hourly, weekly, or per project

    If you want a good professional VA you should look to pay by the month. About $300-$350/month would be good start. Also remember that it is customary to pay and extra month's pay in Dec, for Christmas. And the VA shouldn't have to ask.

    If this is your first time outsourcing make sure you know and understand the customs. If you're only giving a VA weekly, random, pay that doesn't make a VA feel very secure in your ability to run your business and offer him/her dependable employment.

      For you to even post the comment then I am guessing you have doubts about the person you would like to hire. Regardless, you should pay them their minimum wage rate so you will need to do research on that before. If things work out for the better then you can up the rate

    Just to clarify, my question is about one project that takes a week. If getting a VA would be more trouble than it's worth, considering the vetting processes.
