I have found a 1 word keyword which is a very common word which is available to buy on a .net and I was thinking about buying it but I'm not sure why this keyword has not been bought yet??

it has 500,000+ (more) exact searches a month but I'm worried that I could get sued or soemthing if I buy it which is why it's available?? or it's not worth anything because .net ???

.net is almost equal to .com
    .me is probably very bad

Why would you worry that you are going to get sued? Does this mean it is a brand domain?

.net is fine - you can always check with the domain registrar as to whether there are any copy right issues with the name, Namecheap gave me a heads up when I purchased a similar high search domain for a CPA offer I was promoting

If .net is available, you should get it quickly. It does not matter much what your domain extension is, it does matter what your content is.

Absolutely! Unless you are targeting a particular country like I do the UK for some sites then those three are the holy trinity.

Also, sometimes domains get released so you might have been lucky to find it.

I think if this theory works, "price peak when less stock, price steep when stock everywhere"(sorry for the poor grammar).

Maybe .com are more valueable than .me, .net
