Getting Opt-ins on Auto Pilot

I know the most successful marketers don't stress out about generating opt-ins manually on a daily basis, like i am. I just got into using PPC ads and have generated about 3 opt-ins after receiving about 80 clicks. These conversions are looking promising right? Should i stick on this path of automation? I have bee generating opt-ins manually through Facebook, YouTube, Craigslist, and classified ads. My mind is set on completely using PPC ads, because i hate having to manually post at the right times everyday.

That is a bad optin rate, you need to tweak your squeeze pages and PPC campaign keywords.

Your time will be better spent trying to build a list in the top forums in the niche you are targeting, those leads from social sites, are not the best IMHO..

If you have tried targeting with Facebook PPC, that is a decent opt in rate already.

Just test it with your sales conversions. If your PPC optins are converting twice worse than your Social media leads then maybe consider hiring someone to do the work? As a marketer you don't just do the manual boring stuff yourself.

Or do both. PPC and outsourcing social media.

i have always used a combination of free and paid traffic

while you are building your lists with paid traffic to give them a boost you can be building your free traffic up as well

my lists now build on auto-pilot and buyers are added to my other lists all on auto-pilot too

at first you do need to put the effort in to get things moving but once you build up some momentum it gets way easier :-)

I agree with Paul. It will become easier and eventually you won't be able to stop it from happening. You do need to get those conversions up though. You should be looking for a 38 to 60% conversion rate. Once you find one page hitting those numbers.... Make a new one and test again and keep the best one. Then do it all over again. Free is awesome and slow. Use paid to test. That way your freebie sign-ups will convert way better.

What matters is your cost per click and income per opt-in.

I'd need to be very successfully selling something pretty expensive, myself, to be happy with 3 opt-ins from 80 clicks from any sort of traffic, and especially from paid traffic.

Nobody can possibly answer this meaningfully without knowing your costs per click and income per opt-in, Nicolas.

I've done some of this, myself. I completely see the attractions of it and it's something to which I intend to return in future when I have more of the time and concentration needed for its not-always-smooth learning-curve. However, I must say I wouldn't dream of trying to use it in your niche without extensive experience of and familiarity with it.

The reality is that successful PPC campaigns are far from "automated". They require a great deal of attention, meticulous, detailed analysis and the appropriately analytical mind-set, too.

I think personally you have the right idea using a form of paid advertising to generate leads. I think that it is a better business strategy for a number of reasons.
1rst doing all the manual stuff is great if you enjoy it, if your human it will probably drive you nuts at some point.
2nd your more of a business owner to pay for traffic. Think about it, would a successful business owner run around putting up posters and buggin people on the street all day or would they hire someone to advertise while they chilled out and focused on what they could do to make the business better and or bring in more profits.
3rd last and not least if you are using paid traffic you can learn to scale it and really grow your business.
Think about it unless you use some sort of compu-steroids you are pretty much limited to how much you can grow your business on a personal level but if you pay for advertising theres no limit to how rich or how much you can grow your business, (Well until you run out of product, traffic or customers) (and with the internet there is a few ways of dealing with those issues as well actually come to think about it)

But using PPC you want to make sure you know your numbers, you will want to make sure that the amount of opt ins are profitable. So on average how often do opt ins buy?
If you can figure that stuff out you can make virtually as much money as you want.

I hope that helps if so please press the thanks button it will help out my profile, thanks

That opt-in rate is terrible. Exit that niche and go into something different. You should at least be getting 30% from your squeeze page (if you have a squeeze page). What is your site? Maybe we can give you some tips to increase your conversion rates, and help you out a bit.
