I have been making about $100-$200 monthly with my niche site for about 7 months now. It is a sniper site as it is on one product and has only about 10 pages on it.

If I were to replicate this 10 times, I see myself making about $1000-$2000 a month respectively.

The only problem is everyone says that Sniper sites are unsustainable. Does this mean I will only continue making money on my website for a limited time or is it still possible to make niche sniper sites with the proper techniques?

There are too many factors affecting that so it depends on a lot of things.

Your site has been running for 7 months. How much effort was it to build it and how much effort is it to maintain it?

If you can build a site in a weekend and it only takes a little effort to maintain it then building a site a week would give you tons of sites in 7 months.

But if it is a lot of time to maintain one sniper site, then maybe it isn't really sniper site.

Some sniper sites can last a long time others will never be viable and others may be fine for months then the income drops.

It can be any number of things:

    - Targeted product becomes obsolete
    - Google updates/SEO changes
    - Niche gets more competitive
    - Traffic source disappears
    - etc

The idea of a niche sniper site is it should be quick to set up, rank easily and not need a lot of maintenance.

Build a few a month or week and you should always have a few money makers even if they don't all succeed or last.

If you are worried about long term stability of a single site, that is more 'authority' thinking than 'sniper' thinking.

You want to scale up and you're not sure if your effort is paid in future?

I remember I had around 77 websites which gradualy cha-ching, around $40 a day. But out of nowhere the penguin came in and dismanter all my cha-ching domain. I had the same idea as you earlier, so this is my result. They won't last.

I set it up back in September, put all the pages together in a couple days and haven't touched it since except for a couple tweaks here and there every couple months.

Why not hire a VA to build the sites, follow the method you have been following and when the sites get slapped, you would of made some profit which could be used to invest in what ever. All the time you are building a sustainable business for the future which is getting initial funding by what your doing already.

It's the problem with the whole "make money online" way of thinking. If you want to run and gun all the time you can make some money.
But wouldn't you rather have a business, which is an asset that could be sold, or kept and run by someone else when want to relax and maybe start another business?
For my part, I want a long term sustainable business that will last after me and not be dependent on me to make it work.

    sniper site is not sustainable.
it could work now but eventually google will bring it down.
you could quickly make short term money with it and with the money earn, think of other ventures.

If i were you, i will try to make 2-3 websites and try to make more money with them rather than making 10 websites. Having said that one important thing is not to put all eggs in the same basket.

I will diversify my traffic sources to get some protection from the google updates. I think its better to go safer ....

Ya i think a lot of what you're concerned about has to do with where your traffic is coming from... If you're relying on search engine traffic then the model probably isn't as safe as you'd like because you're relying on search engine algorithms which are constantly changing...

Sniper sites are good at the moment the content is asked and hot but after a while and after google start to change the game they won't work any more.

But if you like to do websites over and over again it is good short time money so if they lose the rankings dump them on flipa or simply let them die eg expire.
and move on to the next sniper site till it is not working anymore. rinse and repeat.

So with my current site, I still continue to sell on average 2-3 commissions a day. Once that starts to dwindle, I can sell it on Flippa for a good price?

Sounds like your doing really good. As long as you know where your traffic is coming from and keep it going then I would keep it. But if your ready to sell you can sell, you can sell it for 10x the monthly revenue on flippa. As longs as you can proof revenue.
