How long does it take to put your own site?

I am taking so long, a week now and still not done and also getting sick literally in the process. I want everything to be perfect so I am always doing so many changes.. Spellings mistakes, searching for more plugins, more pictures and making it more eye catching.. etc.

Wah! So the original question is how long do you usually take plus the time taken to write your own contents.

Put it up already! If it's good, put it up! It will never be perfect. Once it's up, you'll start getting visitors and hopefully make sales.

While it's up, you can tweak it more but I'd recommend focusing on making more content and not just tweaking more and more.

My first site took 30 mins to put up because I knew what I wanted and I don't like waiting forever to go live. I make tweaks when I see fit but I'm making money and not worried about being perfect.

    Hey Substance,

Are you talking about putting up a WordPress blog? If so, you should be able to get that done in a day easily.

Don't get distracted looking for plugins or trying to get everything just perfect. It will hold you back big time! Just get things going and then you can always to back and perfect things at a later date (in you SPARE time, lol)

It is site for IM services that I am offering and There is so many research to be done on the pricing also.

I even spy on my competitors to see that I am offering more affordable and better services than them. LOL.

Do you copy the same privacy policy on your sites and the policy terms?

Yeah, research can a bit of drag I know, but it will serve you well if done correctly. I use the same privacy policy for all my products and just edits the bits i need to.

There's actually free plugin you can use for your terms of service and privacy policy -- it's called Syon Plugin. Just Google and you should find it no problem

Cool Thanks. I know there are plugins for everything and this will save me at least an hour.

It takes me a couple hours to create a good looking Wordpress site. The content usually takes a couple days but I don't wait till its perfect. I put it up and adjust as needed.

I wouldn't copy the exact same terms and privacy policy but you can use your competitors information as a guide to help you write yours.

Your website will never be "perfect". Get it in a state where you can say, it may not be perfect yet, but it's good enough to go.

I takes about an hour to setup a wordpress site, the theme, plugins, etc... Then probably another day or so, depending on how much content that needs to be added.

    Get it up.

Until you send traffic to it, not many people are going to see it right away.

It's never going to be 'perfect.'

But the sooner you get it up, the sooner it can start getting indexed, and the sooner you can do some article marketing.

    Best of luck!

If you looked at my blog you'd realize how little effort I've put into it.

You can always edit after it is published.
You are loosing traffic without a published website.

Each site I build takes a few hours to stand up. Once it's up, I'll spend maybe 30 minutes per day posting content. Once the site is a month old, I'll drop back to a few pieces of content per week.

I've taken anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks building sites. I usually launch when they are ready
