What is cookie stuffing?

Hi I just got sent a link to a cookie stuffing script that can make me a $bazillion per month.

But what is cookie stuffing and is it something I should be doing?

    Cookie stuffing is when you put a cookie on someones computer without them knowing. Usually its through a script or plugin on your website. Some people use it on their review sites so they still can get a commission even if the person doesn't click through their link. I wouldn't do it. Most people consider it black hat marketing. You could also get banned from an affiliate or CPA network if they catch you using this method.

      I was banned from Amazon > Adfly traffic .. to some random amazon affiliate links.it converted..but never got commission. So be very careful with ''cookie stuffing''

    Some of the people say about Cookie stuffing is the most lucrative money-m aking tactic on the internet today. You can literally generate thousands of dollars each week with as little as 1 hour of time. That means that you are able to work as little as 1 hour per week and then sit back and relax. All while making crazy amounts of cash at the same time.

    It really depends on how you work on it and utilize it in the right way.
    It wont work for the beginners.
    So before starting get some good experience on it by reading faq's , pdfs etc.

      Cute video, your daughter is such a ham. My daughter is 19 now and her main focus is being out with her friends but I miss the days when she was younger and we would go fishing, bake cookies and watch cartoons together.

    Cookie stuffing is a dirty script that plant cookies on others people computer when they visit your website. Let say you promote ClickBank products in your website. Then when people visit your website, that dirty script will plant cookies on their computer even they didn't click on your affiliate link. Then when they bought the similar products outside your website, you still get the commission. Most of affiliates network won't allow cookie stuffing. It's a blackhat technique to obtain quick cash. You will get banned.

    Cookie stuffing has been a frequently used script technique by both the big boys and the smaller IM marketers. It only became deemed as "unethical" when the little guys started using it alot. The affiliate programs and most forums shy from it mainly out of fear of litigation from the big guys, not out of a sense of ethics.

    No, not that.....

    It's drop an affiliate cookie even when the user doesn't follow your affiliate link. If the user later visits the merchant directly, without ever clicking your affiliate link, you get credited, even though you don't deserve it.

    Cookie stuffing will get you banned from most affiliate programs if caught.

    It is unethical period! It doesnt really matter how you look at it. If I didnt buy from you then why should you get money for making the sale. If I am looking to buy a car and talked to two or three different car lots, the person that sales me the car gets the sale. NOT the FIRST person I came across.

    People think that 'marketing on the internet' is some get rich quick scheme . Its only a medium to market to a huge amount of consumers with such a low overhead that anyone can get started. But its still just business and marketing. I think that IM and MMO is completely misunderstood and is why people cant wrap their heads around what all this is really about.

      Here is something to consider:

      Example 1: If I am stuffing cookies for different affiliate programs in this post then I agree with you. A commission has not been earned if someone reading this thread then happens to order some product.

      Example 2: Affiliate creates an excellent web page that convinces someone to buy a product. But instead of clicking the affiliate's link to the merchant they just type the merchant's url into their web browser.

      Why shouldn't the affiliate be paid? In fact, they earned a commission.

      In this instance the web page is similar to a TV or radio ad. The affiliate is doing something deserving of a commission, even if a specific link is not clicked. Setting a cookie documents the buyer visited the page.

      How many click a link in a video as opposed to being convinced by the video to go buy a product from a merchant?

      Unfortunately, there are many reasons why affiliates are not credited for a significant share of commissions they in fact earned.

      - The above examples.
      - Web browser settings preventing referral tracking.
      - Technical glitches causing a cookie not to be tracked.
      - Person visits affiliate web page at work, then buys from their home computer.
      - Person visits affiliate web page on phone, then buys from home.
      - Browsing that does not involve link clicks.

      Not all of these situations are remedied through 'stuffing', but 'stuffing' is a remedial measure to better track actual earned commissions.

      Before arguing about this, let me concede it is not perfect and can result in some payments arguably not earned.

      I predict, in the future, fewer affiliate commissions will be dependent on clicking a certain link, and more credit will be based on 'exposure' technologies.

      As different methods of "browsing" evolve, such as voice, eye, and even brain commands, and fewer "clicks" are done with a mouse, I see this as inevitable if affiliate marketing is to survive.

        I think the situation is actually 100% clear.

        It's unethical if its against the merchant's Affiliate Program TOS.

        If the merchant's TOS allow it (or even encourage it), then it can't be unethical.

        That said, most affiliate networks and merchants that I am aware of, do not allow it.
