Is there a good tip on assembling your blogs at blogger?

Hi!

I've been doing some blogs on blogger lately. It's great. Free and easy. It's just that the templates are boring.

I found a nice template and uploaded it. Now, my concern is that although the blog is visually appealing, it lacks cool widgets. Like followers widget, hits counter, page rank indicator, bookmark widget.

Also, the articles list, which is listed per date, is annoying. I don't want readers to see that some of the articles are old.

Is there a simple way to easily include a link from the main page to the articles. If a widget is available for this, it will be good.

I was wondering is anybody can give me instructions on how to go about this.

* how to add followers box
* how to add a hit counter
* how to add a page indicator
* How to put in a nice articles/post list

I'm presently doing research on this but additional input will be appreciated.

Thanks Y'all

I use statcounter.com - easy to add to blogger - just add their code into a gadget.

Isn't there a blog followers gadget in the blogger list?

Can't help with the others I'm afraid.

      Hi Omar,

      - Yes blogger has a followers widget. Just go to Layout, then Add Gadget and it should be on the Basic Widgets.

      - Agree with Rosetrees, use statcounter. You can have an invisble or visible counter and you can adjust it to show either pageloads or unique visitors.

      - Really don't know anything about a pagerank indicator. Maybe that's just me being dumb! Would you care to expand on that one?

      - Where it has Blog Archive, you can just delete that. This will normally show dates of published posts. Then go to Layout again and Add Gadget. There you will find a Links widget. This is usually to add urls and descriptions of other external websites that you wish to send your visitors to. However, you can add an internal url of a specific page from your own blogger blog and give it whatever description you want. For the title you can call it whatever you want again. "Reviews" or "Further Articles", etc!

So it may appear with the above, that you are sending your readers to an external source for further reading and information, but infact you are just sending them to another page of your blog.
