Are you a believer in "branding" or " Godfather offers"??

(you know, those offers that are hard to refuse no matter who you are!!)

What are your thoughts?

Not sure I see the point to the question, and I'm at a loss as to how to answer that?

It's all about the sales copy, the branding might get you to the sales page, but if that is rubbish, and doesn't convince you, then you won't make any sales.

For someone starting out and not sure if they are going to stay in the same niche very long I would probably stick to the "Godfather offers". If you know your going to be in the same niche forever I would definitely go with the branding method.

I think branding helps / assists but just like Martin says, it's mostly down to the copy. If the offers exactly what people are looking for then they'll get it but just because of the brand, I doubt that has a stronger impact on the product / service that's being offered itself.

  • I have a supermarket in my area that sells thousands of imported brands that you will never hear about or see on a commercial (in North America), but the items have become "my brand" of choice, and also my 6 year old daughters choice for certain cookies and snacks that are pretty much only available in these types of stores,

    But I digress...

You are referring to an "irresistible offer" (That's the brand name for what you are talking about) which is an offer that is too good to pass up even though there is no name brand attached to it, versus a name brand offer.

    If it's a good deal, it's a good deal I say.

From a business perspective, branding a product in certain niches is hard to do (competing with larger established brands) unless you have a few million dollars to do it right. Branding a product or yourself online however, is a little bit easier. Example, It's always funny to mention the "biggest IM names online" to some of my non business friends, and watch their face turn into a big question mark. I guess the branding / brainwash worked. Don't even get me started on the term "Guru",... ugh!
