What are your average conversion rates from affiliates?

I've recently set up a new info product on clickbank.

From my own targetted advertising I am getting a conversion rate of about 1.5%, but my affiliates are averaging a conversion rate of about 0.05%.

Is this a common experience? Maybe because the quality of most affiliate traffic is so poor. Or is this a sign that something needs to be changed?

What are your experiences?

You have to keep in mind the different methods that affiliates drive traffic to your website:

    1) List owners who endorse your product directly (best conversion rates)

    2) Related websites that put your product link on their website (but they still have a relationship with their website visitors)

    3) Keyword-rich websites built specifically to attract people searching for related products in your niche which then link to your website

    4) Completely unrelated traffic/visitors that are being sent or redirected to your website

With these differences, conversion rates are going to be all over the map.

Provide them with an "affiliate resource" section on your website with tips and tactics and how to improve their conversion rate. If possible, create relationships with some of them, specially those who drive more traffic to you.

      Thanks for the great advice

My product has been running for only about 2 months on clickbank so that could be something to do with it.

Do you have any particular advice about how to develop those relationships with top affiliates?

Or methods on how to attract those type of affiliates in the first place?

      Thanks

      • Travis Sago (of Bum Marketing) has a ClickBank product called, "The Magic of Making Up." Sign up to be his affiliate. He is a master at creating relationships with affiliates and provides all kinds of training and materials for his affiliates. Once you get on his list as an affiliate you'll see all the cool stuff he provides. It should help you in figuring out what to do.

        Good luck.

It's so important to create training material for your affiliates. This makes them feel as if you actually care about them making money. If they make money, you make money. Make it as easy for them as you can. Also, realize that there are thousands of products to become an affiliate of at Clickbank, and the competition for affiliates is fierce. I'm a decent affiliate, and these days I usually choose affiliate programs that seem better organized and provide good marketing/training material. Of course, the product has to be good too, otherwise, no matter how good their affiliate program is, it may sell, but the refund rates will be too high.
