HTML Editor w/ Squeeze pg.

Here are my steps

1. From a squeeze page, I right click and "view source" (html of squeeze pg.)
2. Copy html text and paste into html editor Text Wrangler.
3. Add html tracking code for tracking opt-ins and conversions (ect.)

Question:

1. How do I save the squeeze page with the newly added tracking code?

2. When saved where can I paste the new html squeeze page with tracking code inside and get it to show up on the internet? Then when it shows up I can see the squeeze pg. that has same look but now has the saved tracking code inside?

Basically: How do I get the code into the html and then get it to show on the internet?

Are you ripping off other people's squeeze pages? Not a smart thing to do, as there are plenty of free ones you can edit.

If you're doing them yourself, then you have the source code, you update it, then upload it with an ftp program.

  • Are you asking how to "steal" someones squeeze page in order to insert your code, and then upload it to display a stolen squeeze page?

As others have said you should not being doing this.

What gives you the right to copy the source code someone else has spent time to create?

Would you like it if I came along to your website, copied the whole thing, and used it for my own purposes? Treat others how you would like to be treated.

Not only are you ripping off their hard work but if you are not downloading any of the images (which would be illegal in itself) you are then hotlinking their own images and costing them additional bandwidth.

There are way too many squeeze page templates out there that you can obtain and use legally that this sort of thing is just not on. You're either lazy or don't respect other people's hard work.

Sorry for my tone but I've been the victim of people like yourself many times and I've lost all patience with it. There's absolutely no excuse for copying other people's work.

No that is not my purpose. I am just trying to figure out how to add tracking code into my own squeeze pages! I don't know how to make my squeeze pages have new code in them for tracking. I am trying to do tracking with Bevo Media and they need code to go into html to track the stats. Does anyone know how to put tracking code in a squeeze page my, own squeeze page. Not trying to steal anyones commissions.

I'm talking tracking code so I'm not sure why you all think I am trying to steal here.

Because we all saw the words that you wrote and interpreted it as such.
The fact that your mind meant something else does not count.

Which auto responder are you using? Lets start there.

OK....When I read my first post the only thing I see wrong is in #1 when I said "a squeeze page" I should have said my squeeze page. I did not mention anything about an auto responder, Stoltingmediagroup asked my what auto responder I was going to use. I don't think he is giving me a trick question. So I think he wants to help. If you are not wanting to help in my question give it a break. I'm not breaking any rules here or trying to deceive anyone. All I am asking is how do you put in a tracking code into a squeeze page, so I can track views, opt-ins, conversions. So if you know how I would love the help. If you want to play games kid games Will R give it a rest I am asking a legitimate question. Those of you that know or understand what I'm asking I would appreciate the help.
          Thank you.

These squeeze pages are from a network. I am a member so the squeeze pages are ming I am a paid customer. This may clear up any confusion.

              I'm a bit confused...

If you own the squeeze page templates and have them downloaded onto your computer, why don't you just open them up in your html editor and add the code in the 'source' section then save it?

                  As Jill explained above...

I like to use either Filezilla or the newer FireFTP to upload files to my sites. Both are simple to use, once you're shown how. There are hundreds of tutorials on YouTube for either one.

Search for: 'upload files using filezilla' and look for the most recent and shortest one (it only takes about 2 minutes to upload them so no need for a full tutorial on ftp!).

And that's it - your pages should now be online.

Let us know how you get on...

HTML does not always convert well in the text editor on wordpress.

Personally I'd load the page up to your server as it's own page.

You can use FTP, or you can probably log into the back end of your hosting account and upload through a file manager (if the page is zipped up).

It almost sounds as if you are not yet signed up with either auto responder, which then begs the question: Which squeeze page were you then talking about that you were attempting to insert code into? You later mention that you have your own squeeze pages, so therefore we can now assume that you don't have them hooked up to an auto responder yet, but you want to insert code into them for Bevo, which is a fingerprint tracking service, and then upload them?
I'll leave this one for someone else to jump in and give some input as it's late here and my brain is slowing down... .
