I am planning to make a Free movie streaming site. And intend to monetize in by doing membership enrolment. Then setting it so that members have to go CoinTube.TV - Free Bitcoins for Watching TV! after 3 shows to earn Bitcoin for my website. Will there be any problem?

Hi, payments gateways has no problem. I can feel all the ideas in your mind were all fixed up. However, the only problem you will have is to hire developers which would fix up your website immediately. See also if bitcoins supports the website you are planning to accomplish. Well then good luck!

Isn't there only 22 million bit coins ever made? What's the going rate for 1 bit coin? Last I read it was about 60 bucks, I may be wrong tho.

21 million bitcoins is the total that will be 'created'...this will occur around 2030.
Over half of that has already been created.
Check out the wikipedia for more info.

Yeah, you are right. I didn't know people were still into this bitcoin scam. That's what it all is. A scam built around the propoganda of freeing this country from the from the federal reserve.

With only 2200 hundred bitcoins ever available, that means it's even worse of a scam than fiat currency, which is pretty bad. It means there will only be a handful ( if that ) of rich bitcoin people and the rest of them will have wasted time and money they will never get back.

You should see the expense in computer equipment and hardware alone that I have seen some people get just to mine bit coins. It's a scam which is pretty much like a pyramid scheme. thousands or millions work their you-know-what off but only a scan few of the founders will get rich or make any money.

Do people with bitcoins watch streaming videos? I feel like most people with bitcoins are those already familiar with the Internet and finding content that they wish.

There are all types of people using bitcoins...the point of the currency was to create anonymity and an untraceable money trail. That is why the purchase/sale of black market items via bitcoins is such a huge industry.

A very small percentage of the population knows what bitcoins are let alone uses them, so I would be careful using them as my only form of payment on a website, you will deter a lot of people.

I think if you can integrate bitcoin with your site that would be cool. Given the fact that ppl will have to earn before that will help keep ppl engaged.

There is a shopping cart script available on the drupal platform that accepts Bitcoin as payment (Google for it). It would work best if you could by items for the bitcoin equivalent in dollars, since BTC shifts around in value from week to week.

A good ideia would be to make the users mine for you while they watch the videos instead of after. They wouldnt even know they are mining for you, and they would love your site because it would be easy and "Free".

You just need a "video player" that would stream the show and use what is left of the cpu/gpu to "mine" the bitcoins. This way there´s no way the users can leave your site without doing some work for you.

You could even make this "video player" a browser plugin for the user to install, so every time the user open the browser you could make them mine for you...

Damn, the more i think about this things, the less i belive bitcoin can have a long life.

Pro tip (from an investing section of a webmaster forum): many bitcoin miners are also INVESTORS. You might want to upsell them on investment products to subsidize your free video series.

  • I read that this is a very unstable investment. Bitcoins are dangerous. It's extraordinarily volatile, so unless you've got a lot of money you're willing to use, like to gamble and very educated in the world of investing... stay away. You could make a ton of money as the value jumps like crazy, or you could lose everything all because of a fake coin. Though I guess everything has assigned value... it's fascinating but dangerous. The worth jumps like crazy.

SO MUCH CONTROVERSY! I'd be very careful. Also you can either buy them or mine them via solving complex algorithm problems with super computers.

Yeah, I'm intrigued by and having been following the Bitcoin saga for awhile now. It's just too new and unstable IMO. There are a million ways to niche it out and capitalize on it but not sure if I'd take the time to fully integrate on site as a processor/gateway just yet. Just my opinion. Either way, best of luck

Agreed, it sure has a lot of potential but a bit too unstable at the moment imho; interesting to see how this goes. Apparently banks aren't too friendly with bit coins and have closed a few accounts of those bit coins exchange operators and thus their exchanges online.
