looking for a website

Hi --

I'm trying to remember an example of a website where a "opt-in" box pops up and asks you to fill in a report (and the 'rest' of the website blanks out/goes grey). Does anyone know of such a website? (I just wanted to see it in action).

    Not sure what you mean by "fill in a report".

    The "technique" of where the rest of the website blanks out/goes grey iscalled a "lightbox" -- and you can see an example here:

    That's using Seree's Faster IM Optin software.

    I know what you mean, but I have to tell you they drive me mad - especially when you get stuck into the text & it's really interesting, then everything goes grey !!

    Hi,

    I was searching for something similar last week and I came accross this page ...

    Leightbox : "Not my page or any affiliation with."

    The popup effects use a combination of CSS and Javascript and this page shows three examples of what you may be looking for. Plus you can download a copy of the page and script for free.

    With just a little bit of editing by yourself 'or elance' I'm sure you can automate the popup and also include an optin box or anything else you want, video looks great inside this type of popup.

    If you're not in a rush I could do the popup for you "free", but it would be at least 30 days as I'm very busy on a new project.

    I forgot to mention ... if you use aweber, you can have aweber provide you with a lightbox effect as well.

    When you click on the options for "web forms" it gives you a number of choices, like "in-line" (what I usually use.) But they also have the lightbox and other effects.

    The reason I don't generally use the special effects provided by aweber is because it requires you to use the javascript version of the webform instead of the html.

    I prefer having the html -- it gives me more flexibility -- and it should work even if someone doesn't have javascript turned on.

    Sorry for the delay in responding. I saw someone had thanked me, so I was investigating who thanked me and for what. So I can do more of that!
