    Brad,

I just went through a very steep learning curve with Amazon S3 whilst working on a launch for a Warrior who is storing their files there.

Are the files to have open access or is there authentication involved?

If anyone can access them I suggest checking out Firefox's S3 Fox addon. This provides you with a simple to use interface to transfer files to your bucket(s) and provide download links etc.

In my case, it was more complicated, requiring security and authentication and required PHP/MySQL etc.

    Hope this helps,

    Jonathan

  • Brad:

Do you need help uploading the files or getting the files you've uploaded to work? It sounds like you have your files uploaded but you're having issues figuring out the link to use to actually access them. Please clarify and I can help.

See Quentin's post about how he uses Amazon S3:

See David Thompson's post in this section of the forum about Amazon S3 for a video showing you how he sets up a bucket and sub domain to use it:

      I'm running out of ideas.

I have links to videos on my S3 account that work fine. Did you setup your subdomains to match your bucket names? I'm sure you did since you say the images work.

The fact that they are 0 byte says there isn't really a file there in the first place. You should delete and upload again.

When you get the url, are you clicking the one that says, "Copy URL to clipboard"?

    Brad,

Did you try creating the download URLs using the Firefox addon? If you're going to be selling products then I'd advise against allowing anyone to read the files. This will prevent all and sundry from sharing your download links.
