Desperately Need A Mentor / Mentors....

Good day,

Well i've been browsing the forum for quite a while, and recently I've started a Warrior Forum Gold file on my computer where I copy all the posts I see that I feel are of great value. But I need help. I'm a little overwhelmed at where the start of the start is, and i'm losing hope that i can do this...

I have a few sites / domains that I started on moments of inspiration but now they are sitting dormant and in waste.... I honestly dont know where to begin, I've made some Adsense revenue on a blog that I have, but that is the only "IM" money I have made thus far, all my attempts at affiliate marketing have been in vein, and I feel that besides promoting your own product - affiliate marketing is where the real money lies. I would like the help of an individual who I can contact either offline, or through instant messaging and e-mail.

I do not have any money to offer the mentors, but I am a skilled graphics designer and web programmer, plus i have experience in applications programming, database development and database interface programming.... I'm willing to exchange my skills and knowledge in those departments for the time someone will take to teach and work with me on establishing myself as an internet marketer.

A little bit about me that may help you better secure the fact that you will not be wasting your time.... I have been a successful technical sales rep, I am very business oriented and have management experience. Learning is not just something I have to do, it is one of the greatest pleasures I have in life, I am always eager to pick up new skills, and can usually grasp concepts before the instruction is finished....

I'd be careful about betraying "desperation" around here. Mentors or coaches that will be actually valuable to you are very few and far between.

Tread carefully, especially when you're asked to paypal funds, and remember that you know one hell of a lot more than you think you do.

A good place to start is FREE TRAINING - it always amazes me how people want to jump straight to the front of the line and NOT DO ANY HOMEWORK. There are amazingly well-written and solidly informative tools available on the net. Find someone who knows where they reside and GO GET THEM. Then, don't just leave them to rot in some dusty reach of your hard drive. PRINT THEM OUT and do some studying. Make a schedule. GO BACK TO SCHOOL. This stuff doesn't magically appear out of thin air and suddenly you are an Alan Says expert overnight! That wealthy Internet Marketer guru you just got the email from may have spent SEVEN YEARS toiling in the mud before hitting it big. And yet you want it all yesterday? HA! It just doesn't work that way, no matter WHAT the latest piece of NLP (nefarious loser psychobabble) sales copy tells you...

Note: I have a nice list of GREAT freebie "tomes" that make wonderful bedtime study material - oh, and don't forget to IGNORE EVERYONE when doing this (the spouse, the well-meaning best friend, the parent, the sibling, the co-worker) - they all ARE CERTAIN YOU WILL FAIL, so go tell them to pound sand and just get on with it.

I never thought of this really, perhaps it could create some capital for reinvestment into my knowledge quest. Or perhaps someone would like to take me for a step by step interactive lesson where my contribution could be the graphics, and all I ask in return is knowledge. I am studying quite a bit, I have bought a few products online which said they were geared towards the IM newb, but it was the same content on each and it appeared as if they were more suited to someone with an established website with e-mail list subscribers already in play.

The biggest keys to success that I've learned is NEVER giving up.
You seem like an intelligent person. Start thinking positive and know that you can do this! IM is fun and you should be having fun with it. Sounds like you are on the right track. Perhaps you should not just look for 1 mentor, but join a group (just a suggestion). Take Action Daily, Remember to have FUN...this is an Exciting Industry!

You don't need a mentor, you need traffic to your sites. You took the first step and created websites. I assume your sites are either for building a list or selling a product. Neither will happen until you get people to your site. You also won't be able to attract top notch affiliates until you have traffic with conversion statistics.

There is no magical formula for traffic but there are a ton of strategies. And you are in the right place to find those strategies. Click on the "Search" tab on this forum and type in "traffic strategies" (or something like that). You will get a ton of information on how to get traffic and it's all free advice.

You will then be able to test your websites and see whether or not you have something. After that, you can go to the next step.

I work for web based applications in PHP mostly... for console (dos and linux command) programs I work in c/c++, for windows based programs (not very experienced in this) I prefer to work in VB due to speed of development. If you dont mind you would please e-mail me?
