Would You Drop This Clickbank Merchant For This Reason?

Changing things around too often such as relocating their website rendering your hoplinks completely useless, changing their pages around making them more difficult for you to get conversions and just generally trying to screw with you to minimize the amount of commissions they’ll have to pay out? Some even play around with their website code so that the website is often “not found” by browsers when people come through your hop links redirecting potential sales to search pages where the merchants main site comes up at the top of the search but you are cheated out of a commission.

    Just remember this: Clickbank merchants need you! NOT the other way around. If you think anyone is giving you trouble, drop them and promote someone else.

    Factors you haven't mentioned are how much money you are making from the merchant, whether the money is worth the hassle, and whether the changes weed out competition from other affiliates unwilling to put up with this.

    Otherwise, I'm not sure why you would bother with such a merchant.

    Sounds like the merchant is trying to have his cake and eat it too! He wants the affiliates to funnel traffic his way so he can hijack it and make a few more bucks. What he doesn't realize is that if he treated his affiliates well, he'd have more traffic and make more money than he is doing it this way.

    Think about how hard Travis Sago works to get his affiliates everything they need to make his get the ex back/girl gets ring thing working like a well oiled machine.

    I'd move on to the next merchant who is more thankful for the work you are doing!

    Again, I'd want to know objective facts rather than attributions of alleged purpose, before making a decision.

    I don't understand this part; sorry.

    I find, overall, that vendors are either affiliate-friendly and affiliate-responsible, or they're not. The ones whose sales pages match my minimum essential requirements in the first place do tend to be the ones who are ("surprise surprise"). It does sound rather as if you might be describing one who isn't? :p

    I may be guessing completely wrongly, of course, but I have quite a hunch that the product you're talking about here is one that I wouldn't myself be promoting.

    If you want to post a link to the current sales page, I'm sure plenty of people will comment on whether or not they'd potentially promote it, at least in so far as one can comment on that, just on the basis of its current sales page.

    I think that last sentence answers your question for you. I am new at affiliate marketing, but if you run into this kind of problem, they're definitely trying to squeeze extra dollars out of your hard work.

    Unless your making decent money with them, I'd say get out of that deal.
    From the other side of the fence, any smart merchant knows that hundreds of sales with a 75% commission payout is better than a handful of sales where you keep all the profits. If they can't figure that out, I imagine there business isn't going to fare very well in the long run.

      Whether you're looking at a Clickbank merchant, or any other merchant, it's the same question. Is the reward worth the effort required? And I include 'trust' in that equation.

      Whether a given merchant is deliberately cheating you or simply incompetent, if you don't trust them then why do business with them?
