how to monitor a forum for new threads containing my keyword

Hello,

I'm looking to find out how I can monitor a forum i'm a member of for a specific keyword so when a new thread appears about the keyword i can get notified (maybe via email) and then answer it.

For example if it was a dog forum and I wanted to find any new "dog lead" related threads how can i do this without logging in and scanning post a few times a day?

Is this possible.

Would that work with Google alerts?

You can try using Google alerts with the a search string similar to this:

    site:warriorforum.com make money
    Signature

    Mark's nailed it above.

You can also enter a string specific to a sub section of the forum - for example:

    site:warriorforum.com/main-internet-marketing-discussion-forum make money

This will target the internet marketing sub-forum in the Warrior Forum for the phrase "make money". You can obtain that url by clicking on the appropriate sub-forum and then copy the url from the address bar of your browser.

You can take it a step further by looking for posts within a particular time period by clicking on "search tools"(on the tool bar just below the search box) and then clicking on "any time" and choosing from the drop down. You can even select a custom range for example from Jan 15 to April 15, and so on.

Hi Nealh, if you're interested in the paid options, you can have a look at BuzzBundle.
Among other things I'm using it for exactly the same task as you've mentioned here.
