I always used GoDaddy for purchasing my domains names, with every domain extension. They usually have really good prices on them and often give out discounts codes and coupons etc... Never had any problems with them regarding buying the domains, I've been told to keep clear of their hosting though

I use namecheap and they accept paypal.

They usually have coupons as well.

      Usually < $10 per domain...if that's "cheap" enough

I agree and here's why I prefer Namecheap.

Namecheap doesn't force you through a thousand and one upsells and the whoisgaurd is included which is not the case with godaddy which from what I just looked up goes something like this -->> "Protect My Personal Information As low as $7.99/domain"

So that nice $2.99 becomes $10.99 and Namecheap wins at $10.84

        Make it a great day,

Definitely go with Namecheap, and i would stay away from godaddy... I switched all of my domains over to namecheap from godaddy, I wasn't happy with them.

Buy half of your domains at GoDaddy and the rest at Namecheap. You'll have the best of both worlds (cheap / quality)... At least that's what I'd do in this situation.

You can get a new .COM for $2.95 right now at GoDaddy using coupon code CHRIS295.

Not an affiliate code. I just used it - $3.13 with tax.

In general, GoDaddy's the cheapest, but I know people who like Namecheap and Dynadot. Whatever you do, search for valid coupon codes before you checkout.

My recommendation is name.com. I have been using them for over three years and never had any problems. I have used nodaddy, namecheap and netfirms in the past and now have my 50+ domains at name.com
When I checked their .com: $8.25 for transfers --- $9.25 for new and renewals they have a free privacy if you use a coupon code. "PRIVACYPLEASE"
When you are buying anything there check at http://www.retailmenot.com/view/name.com for current discount codes. You cannot use 2 coupons in one transaction, so buy/renew a domain with a coupon and then go back immediately and get the whois privacy if you want that.

I have used namecheap in the past and they are on my NO NEVER AGAIN list. They are not an ICANN accredited registrar. They are actually a reseller for eNom, so when you do a whois it shows it's registered through namecheap AT eNom.
When you do anything there it has to get passed on to eNom and I experienced delays and failures their interface with eNom. When you think you have paid to register a domain an namecheap, if somebody registers it elsewhere before they successfully pass the information to eNom, you are out of luck on the domain name, but they do give you a prompt refund.

As far as godaddy, just Google "Mike Filsaime godaddy" and you'll get a couple of screenfulls of how godaddy will disable your domain for one complaint, even if unfounded.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

He can get a domain for $0.99 at godaddy. But the thing here is, godaddy does not accept paypal for the domains which are using coupon code.

    I use namecheap.

When you look for a cheap domain name on google, they are on first page.

I heard some negative feedbacks about Godaddy...

I've never had a problem with GoDaddy in 7+ years of using them. The coupons are amazing and I'm buying domains right now for $3.13 as was previously stated. Nuff said.

We would recommend name cheap although if you're looking price wise there's a bunch of promotions from netsolution which is a subsidary of godaddy (I'd recommend against that though)

I use namecheap myself (and am looking for something cheaper at the moment - anyone know where I can buy a cheap (less than $25 .tv domain?) and the only problem with namecheap is they don't offer renewal coupons (unless you have hundreds of websites with them)

I too have heard some negative buzz about "godaddy" and "hostagator" as well. But I use "Namecheap" for a variety of reasons. They are fairly priced. Domains traditionally average about $9 to $18.00 depending on how the system you buy from is setup. This is without discount coupons.

Some hosting accounts require you buy a unique domain from them to get special low price deals,"Brainhost" comes to mind (and in my opinion the worst hosting site on the planet!!!). I bought cheap hosting and got nailed $18.00 for the required unique domain. "Ipage" did the same thing, there domain price was about $12.00, which was high but not exorbitant.

"Namecheap" gives you several free options, I think without going to my account. One is a" whois" registration and perhaps one other item. Other domain services charge for these add ons, check it out. The other thing I like about "Namecheap" are the domain tools ( You register an account with them) available to track your domains. In your account are a lot of analytical features plus you can even purchase domains already registered and sell domains you own.

They offer a lot and are pretty robust. Also, they have apparently just added hosting, I don't know much about it. I have no affiliate links or association with "Namecheap", I like what they offer.

There's two you can use: GoDaddy.com and Namecheap.com, I would use GoDaddy because there's many discount coupons for .com domains if that's your plan. Search for godaddy coupons in Google...

Can't believe nobody's mentioned Internet.bs. Fast, no-nonense, and you aren't bombarded with ads.

Currently .com is $8.49 and includes free Private Whois. Also, when you renew, you still get free private whois (most other companies only give you the first year free with a coupon code). They've been offering payment by Paypal for a few months now (I've been using them for about 4 years).

You revealed one that I've not heard of and will definitely be checking out. Thanks! The private whois is the reason I've always stuck with namecheap but that is only available for the first year. This could definitely be an alternative to at least test out.

What is the whole point if you are not going to renew them?

By the way, Godaddy.com accepts PayPal payments and I have used them for years now. I really like them and they have great customer service should you run into any problem.

I use NameCheap for ALL my domain registrations.

However, I suppose if you wanted the best of both world, and wanted to save some money on the first year of registration, use a coupon with GoDaddy to get the first year at a discount and THEN transfer to NameCheap...

NameCheap is IMHO a good balance of cheap and good customer service...

I always buy my domains from GoDaddy, and 90% of the time I pay less than 2 dollars for each, thanks to a little handy tool called Honey.

Normally you would have to spend some time finding and testing coupons to see if any of the work, but this tool automatically checks 25 recent coupons and finds the best deal for you, and since GD has 99cent domain deals all the time, you end up buying domains for around a dollar or so.

Namecheap. They are an outstanding company which represent good principles and values- have actively opposed CISPA & SOPA laws and support BitCoins.

Why on earth anybody supports GoDaddy is beyond me. All they have is commercials which essentially say "Buy domains and hosting from us because.... TITS." And I'm a firm believer that if a company uses commercials to promote their product and service it is because that product and/or service cannot sell itself.
