Photoshop tutorial help...

I am working on a website and need to create banners, headers and buttons to add the real WOW factor to it.

Plus I will create a twitter background and facebook cover of course.

But I suck at photoshop

Talked to guys at Lynda and TutsPlus but they do not offer a tutorial specifically to that matter.

Is there a WSO or CB product which teaches about making banners and web graphics in photoshop?

How do the make whole sales letter in photoshop I wonder...

Please help if you can!

Photoshop and graphic design is not a skill you are going to learn overnight. Even learning the mechanics of how to create a banner image doesn't mean your banners are going to look any good. Graphic design is a skill you learn over many years.

If I were you I would just have someone who already knows what they are doing to create the banners for you. Why waste your time going through all of that to create some banners? Is it really going to help improve your business? In regards to cost, spending a week learning how to make banners is going to cost your business a lot more than if you just paid someone the money to do it for you and got moving with the rest of your site.

It's great to pick up new skills as you go along but you need to ask yourself is the time you are going to invest in picking up this new skill really worth the amount of time you will actually use that new skill.

    Hi SARahman!

You can find some great step by step tutorials on youtube. That's how I learned. If you are pressed for time, you just might have to place an order on Fiverr, Elance or Odesk.

    Much Success!

My wife has a degree in graphic design. I'd ask her what she thought if I thought it would do any good. But I can't even get her to help me....

There is no 'Magic Pill' but to learn it a right way. If you are in a hurry better to buy service as mentioned above . And keep on learning in your spare time until you become expert in it.

There are lots of tutorials available on YouTube and through Adobe directly. I agree it is not a quick learned skill, but over time if you want to get good just keep practicing.

Photoshop is awesome in the hands of someone who knows how to use it. That alone is a very marketable skill.

    Best of luck

One of the key things about running your own business is knowing what you're good at and what you need others to do. Everyone needs a team, and it's hard to be good at every business discipline. If you're left brained and good at technical stuff, it doesn't follow that you'll be right brained and creative enough to master graphics. You can work day and night to learn to become a graphics master, but perhaps your skills are best used elsewhere in the business if it's not something you yearn to master.

Knowing when to outsource can make all the difference between getting stuck in the mud or fast tracking your internet business. Try checking out elance, fiverr and other outsourcing sites. Maybe you can even do a skills swap with another Warrior where they do your banners and you offer your services for something you're already skilled at and enjoy.

I just got an awesome intro graphic sequence from Fiverr for my sales video, it gave it a professional polish that would have taken me weeks to learn how to do myself. The $5 was so worth it.

Photoshop takes a lot of learning and time to become sufficient. I have been messing around with da p shop for over five years now, and I would still call myself a novice.

I suggest you take a look at youtube or DEVIANT ART for tutorials.

      Thanks a lot warriors!

For your suggestions... you guys are geek and it was an eye opener to me, seriously!

Apart all the "outsource this n outsource that" conversation, my father always taught us to learn the skill first by ourselves before we opt to outsource, why?

If I don't know how to do something, how would I be able to gauge the quality of work done.

      All I seek is one "web graphics" dedicated Photoshop tutorial that teach me how to;

create glossy banners for my website (all sizes)
create glossy buttons/opt-in for my web forms
create sales letters with maximum WOW factor

I know that there are many themes available which are preloaded with all that stuff but still... I am curious to know how do they do that?

The other day I was trying to remove background from my own photo under PhotoShop CS4, I did everything what they were saying in those articles (didn't search youtube) but the **** photo wouldn't come out.

And I have plans to create twitter backgrounds for others, they sell for $75 each, ROI is pretty good.

Is there a tutorial out there?

      Awaiting a positive reply,
