How much should I give away in my report?

Hi,

I got maybe 5-6 really powerful things, that are very unique to me in my specific niche. I'm now writing my free report that I will give away for email opt-ins.
My plan is later to create an info product that I will sell, either an ebook or a dvd-course (or both).

However, my first plan was to give away ALL of these things in the report (making it to about 60-70 pages, and worth TONS), but now I figure I might save some of the good stuff for my paid products.

What is your thoughts on this? Go all out and then just expand on those topics later in the paid products, or with-hold the real goodies and just give them 1 or 2 great things in the free report?

Seems counter-intuitive, but if I'm giving something away, I try make it the best bit of info I have. Usually works out ok.

60-70 pages is pretty heavy for a freebie.

I might offer a small amount in the freebie, one or two great things. Then put the other four in a low priced "entry" product. Then follow with your full paid product.

Test different things to find what works best.

    Thanks for the inputs.

On one hand, it would be great to just get all of it out there. If I can give all this great info away for free, hopefully lots of people would get to know about it and opt-in. Also, they would be really "warmed up" for future sales.

On the other hand, if I give everything away for free I got nothing to profit from =).
Well of course I can expand on my thinking, give more details, more examples etc, but it would still just be a re-creation of my free report with some added stuff in there.

If I only give one or two good things away, the report might not get as well known and the prospects won't be as likely to buy..

There's the rub. If you give too much they may have no reason to buy your product.

In your free report, give a general idea of your product or method. Something which help ppl to start. Then offer a complete walk through (spoon feeding ) in your paid product.
    OR
If you have more then 1 stuff (which you said you have), give couple of them in free report and save the better ones for paid product

Whatever approach you choose, make sure that your free report is really helpful. Make sure you free report readers make some money by using it. This will surely compel them to buy your product.

For a lot of people, if they give too much away they have no product...

As your freebie, target one specific problem that most of your market has.

At the end of the freebie mention that you will be writing further reports and they will be available to people who have signed up to your list. Send them one specific solution to one specific problem in each email.

Your product then, could be the system that allows them to benefit the most from the things you write about. Include case studies to show how the system works.

One of the emails in your autoresponder sequence should ask your readers to send in a testimonial about how these tips have helped them. Then get permission to use the best testimonials in your product.

The people who give testimonials are the best people to get to beta test your product and give you feedback on where it needs improving or what else should be added.

Try and keep the freebie short, but give away GOOD, "juicy" tips, but it would be great if you saved some info for your actual product release.

It's hard to say without knowing your topic or how you plan on making money from it.

I wrote a report (in my signature) and I put in everything I knew. The reason is because I make money when they pass it around. I even let them rebrand the links in the report with their affiliate links. This really only works if you are the product owner or it is a multi-tier affiliate program.

Is it possible to put in everything you know, and some affiliate links to products in the niche?
