Hi all

I just became a paid member to ask 1 question only (Maybe followed up by several other ones )

Ill try to make this brief...Family business , I do accounting , marketing(just some backlinks when i have time), corporate services, administration and legal... a lot of work , work all night at home , wife is mad

I literally work sometimes all day and all night ... i go home and talk to my wife for a bit and I'm looking at my phone and answering emails and reading. Don't get me wrong .. i love and adore my wife and respect her ... but if I don't answer those emails in time . I go to work the next day and i got over 150 emails and fall behind for the next couple of days.

That said, I want to make a turn in my life. I always wanted to work from home via internet but i never had the time to actually search for a good career path in the net nowadays. (I don't even know what kind of business's are successful in the net now)

So hit me with the truth , is there anything out there that can make you a living nowadays ? I know years ago some people even became millionaires on the net (i think by blogging?).

Don't limit your answers to any of the above mentioned info i provided of my work areas. To be honest, i hate accounting , corporate services and legal So don't waste your time on that . Mention everything you all think is the best way to make good money from the net and not just a couple of hundred a month as a part time job .

I have my job and i can do something part time at night until its strong enough to substitute my current job of hell.

I'm looking for something serious that is worth investing time , money and effort to learn and build accordingly in order to do something good for my wife and I (and near future family )

Looking forward to seeing some replies soon.

Aris,

Yeah we'll,it's like this. The only person can tell you how you can make money from the web is you.

The are a million ways to make money online but they all take a lot of hard work and dedication just like any other business.

If you're not up for putting the long boring hours it takes to build a profitable business then just look for a job in another field.

Maybe a community based job might be good for you. They're a lot more relaxed than the corporate world.

I know this ain't what you want to hear but just take a paid vacation while you can and reflect on what would really make you happy in life. Them answer will come.

    Cheers

Corporate is fine and the hard work isn't the problem. I would be happy to stay where i am for the rest of my life and ease down a bit on the work load. But the point is to just try out something different as part time while I work in my normal day job and build something on my own.

Ok , ignore the fact i said I am looking something to do for myself.... lets assume its a general question about what are the most profitable businesses people can do online and be successful if there is enough dedication , hard work and investment involved.

    • Firstly spending all your time on emails is not a good thing. Why not think about hiring an assistant to answer those for you or if a lot of the emails are of a similar nature, create a list of the top common questions you get asked and send out an autoreply with a link to the q&as out of hours.

Now, there are a TON of ways to legitimately make money online.

It really depends on your starting skillset but why not do some videos explaining the very basics of what you do in your day job.

There must be a huge amount of people looking for the knowledge you already have so why learn something new.

Attraction marketing is a great concept, give some of the info you have away for free and people will WANT to subscribe to your mailing list.

Then you can market them a decent bunch of tools, software etc that are paramount to their success in the field.

The most profitable businesses ever, online and off, are those which actually help people do what they want to do - whether their goal is to get thin in time for summer, make enough money to quit their job and stay home with the wife, or beat an illness or irritation they feel they've become a slave to and have no idea how to free themselves, or many, many other problems all people face at one time or another in their lives.

"Profit" comes from serving and helping others.

Making money online is complicated. You have to be realistic. There are many things you have to learn.

You should focus on studying internet marketing and understanding how it works.

Understanding all the process from the beginning to the end takes time, a lot of work, testing, and constant studies.

Since you are working part time, you will delay somehow to reach a point where you will be able to become independent.

However, you are lucky because you have a job and you can live without depending on the internet. You are only in the beginning, and you wouldn’t be able to make enough money even if you would work 24 hours per day online.

So, don’t try to do everything in one day. Pay attention to your wife. Pay attention to your job.

You will achieve your goal, but you must prepare the necessary conditions for your success.

All our employee's email address's are connected to mine . So I can see all incoming and outgoing messages .

Those are some good ideas . Thanks a lot for that.

Without having any knowledge on this , I always imagined businesses that deal with online recurring membership can maybe be the most profitable businesses on the net . But then again ... you need to find something for people to want to become members. ... That's the hard part

Yes you can make a good living online, just depends exactly what you call a good living.

Some people want millions, some are happy with a 6 figure business, and some much less, if you get around what you could in your normal job, work less and get to enjoy life more then online business is a good option.

The truth about working online though is that you need to stop taking in the hype, it is not going to be all in place overnight.

There are no push button solutions, but using outsourcing and some softwares can save you a lot of work for very little cost compared to results.

You don't have to do it all yourself, that is unless you have no budget to invest in getting work done, and if that is the case then you will have to master a lot of tasks, this is what takes time and even more so when you don't have money to spend on training.

Money to invest should be spent wisely on getting things done, no matter what your budget, but this is the biggest struggle people starting online have.

They get caught up with all the promises, buy things, never take enough action on them and then buy something else and move on before any success is seen.

Most get scared when you mention outsourcing work, they think it means committing to spending thousands on teams every week but really should be just used on a 1 off basis for selective jobs at first just so you can get the business in to a state where it is capable of making money, then you can look for more long term solutions.

The biggest secret is creating a system and implementing it.

This should leave you with very little work to do if you automate it so it works for you and not you having to work for the business every day just to keep it running.

So many want to internet lifestyle but their system has very little automation, they are required to do tasks daily just to get any type of traffic etc to their business, this defeats the object of working online, the system should work without you until money is made and then you maybe required to do some sort of task, but the system should of done most of the work for you and should allow you to go on holiday as you like and not have to worry that business will stop.

The tasks you may have to do are things like coaching if that was part of your business, obviously you could automate this to an extent dependant on cost, by teaching in groups on live webinars etc, rather than 1 on 1.

You may choose to do a video per week with training, but more high value stuff will obviously require more work.

The others things may be blogs, vlogs, podcast etc if you were to front the business personally then these would really have to be you, although if you just created some sort of brand you could outsource these even.

When building a business online you need to take care finding the right market, make sure it is competitive, if it isn't then I personally wouldn't look at it, I like competition because I aim to be the best, if you do then don't try the easy option to make a few quid quickly, go with the harder task and become the best.

Entering an easy niche with no competition usually tells a story that there isn't so much money to be had, and if that isn't the case it wont be long until others enter it and you get blown away if your not ready to fight and be the best.

Do your research and see if businesses are spending money advertising in your market, this is a good indication that it makes money.

Research competitors products, pricing and how they market.

Who is your ideal customer, what do they want?

What pain points do they have?

Identify these and see what is missing from competitors products and services so that you can deliver what they offer plus more.

Don't worry about pricing so much, if you are the best you don't need to be cheaper just make sure you satisfy every customer 100%.

It is not about cost, it is about value.

Give the best value not the best price!

Make sure your system automates the process of getting in front of your potential customers, collecting their leads and converting them into buyers without you having to slog it out everyday to make the sales.

Don't sell them products, educate them as to why they need them then they will come to you.

Hope this all helps, good luck with your new direction hope it all works out.

Remember if it gets tough keep going, there can be a fine line between success and failure.

Internet marketing is not the answer to your question, the answer to your question is better time management.

I know people that put in 18 hours a day as a full time job doing internet marketing,

The learning curve is steep and never stops.

If you do want to make a living I would only pay for one thing, as a resource of knowledge.

The only thing worth buy is the warrior room membership which you all ready have.

If you don't balance your time between work and family, your wife will likely free up a lot of time for you by finding someone who does have time for her without the distractions of email and phones.

I've been in the make money online niche for over 3 years. It's been a long, hard journey and in a way continues to be. But I've gotten to the point where I've been making a regular income each month. It's been difficuly juggling the work with my day job as I know if I just had more time I could probably double this in a couple a months.

I've found a system that works and I just need to triple this monthly income to put myself in a position where I can think about leaving my well paid job.

I'm in the make money online niche and sell memberships to The Six Figure Mentors. One of the reasons I make sales is because I don't fill people with BS. If you look at my website, there's a review which even includes the 'bad' points.

I don't tell people "you WILL become rich by purchasing this product". I explain that if you invest in your education and are prepared to treat it like a genuine business (spending money on advertising etc), you will start to see results.

I use the techniques taught by SFM to market many other products in the make money online niche. I'm no expert and I'm not making a killing yet (as my previous post explained) but I went from making ZERO online to bringing in daily leads and making a regular monthly income.

It started off badly for me because the first product I purchased was £2,500 and I was told "You'll quit your job in 3 months. My students are making £10k a month!" The product SUCKED and it was a hard lesson. Thankfully, I didn't give up.

Most people are experiencing what your going through. I had similar experiences working as an Accountant in London clocking in and out everyday like a Zombie. My Business Studies degree gave me the marketing and IT skills that I needed to leave work, be my own Boss and live life on my terms. It's a huge transformation working for someone to being self employed. It requires dedication, will power, consistently learning, networking, sticking to a plan and taking action. At the end of the day, if you can find an offline or online business model you enjoy, you will tend to do well as long as you put in the hard work. The secret is ensuring that you have a balanced life. Those are the real winners who can work let's say 4 hours per day, spend quality time with the family, spend time on their health/fitness, enjoy each day, do simple things like admiring nature, country walks every day, giving back to Society etc

Just off the top of my head though. I found out just 5 months ago that in the US they banned online gambling . The first thing i thought about was a VPN or some sort for people to access the American sites with a anonymous IP. Is this doable ?
and is it legal ? Just hoping to get some info now while im at work because i don't have time to search now :s

I really can't help you there as I've steered away from anything relating to online gambling after a bad experience a few years ago. It definitely sounds like a grey area between legal and illegal though so I would advise to leave it alone!

Don't touch online gambling with a 10 foot pole. While there are many legal issues surrounding online gambling, the Feds have been on an active "search and destroy" mission in terms of online gambling sites, going so far as to try to shut down those run by their citizens even if they're being run in another country.

Getting caught could very likely mean serious jail time, and many involved with online gambling have been jailed. Try another idea

Looking forward to seeing some replies soon.

    Aris,

How I see it, you can make money by literally doing ANYTHING.

It's not about how hard you work, but how SMART.

The key to working smart, however, is marketing.

In terms of online businesses there is no "easy" way to make millions, just as there isn't any easy way to make millions offline.

The vast majority of people who start an internet/online business are either going to fail, or make just enough to make ends meet.

JUST like the people who work "offline".

Those who are successful, I've gathered, have a couple things in common

    1. They have great networks - this means that they can leverage others to help them achieve traffic, subscriptions, and ultimately sales
    2. They understand good content - this means that they know their target market and provide them with that "good shite" that keeps them coming back for more.

TO me, #1 is by far the most important. Networks is the essence of marketing. Even if you have great content, it won't matter one bit if nobody's going to your page. The easiest way to get people to your page is through "thought leaders" who already have a massive following and send some of their fans to your business.

After you've built up a following, it won't matter what you do. It's why the most successful online business owners can start a business, get it to profitability, sell it/hand it off, and start a new successful business. They already have the network and fans in place.

Of course, nothing is stopping you from doing this offline either. Online businesses aren't some weird alien entities - they follow pretty predictable patterns that are seen in "normal" business.

In other words, getting online won't necessarily help you solve your problems, it's about HOW you work and how you leverage your resources to make money.

    That's my 2 cents anyway

Ok, that looks like an excellent plan but what I'm reading is: it's not what you do or have but who you know. Yikes! How on Earth would you even get to that point???

The hardest part of Internet marketing for newbies is simply making the first couple bucks. Look at Fiverr gigs, Odesk gigs, and Warrior Forum classified pages. Look what people pay for. Can you do the same things at the same or better quality? You only need a couple gigs a day to make a $100/day. That's not hard at all if you use your noggin.

You need to choose a business model to pursue.

Forget about high risk, barely legal stuff that you assume will make you a bunch of money quick. Those are always losers.

Focus on doing something that provides real VALUE to people. You can become rich by helping others to enrich their lives in some way.

    Top earners:

    1) Create your own information products (ebooks) and sell through Clickbank, JVZoo, Kindle or eJunkie

    2) Affiliate Marketing - Promote ebooks (Clickbank, JVZoo, WSOs) or physical products (Amazon, Commission Junction, etc.) with niche websites with targeted content

There are others, but these seem to be the most popular.

There are numerous ways to go about pursuing both of the above. However, they do work and make money for people every day.

You really need to assess your time and personal skills to determine what would be best for you at this moment in time. Please don't pick the IM market to start. Lots of newbies make the mistake of trying to sell how to make money online info when they don't have a clue themselves.

There are tons of niches to go into that can be profitable. So, choose an online business model. Next, choose a niche to focus on.

Learn everything you can about how to be successful within that business model.

hi, Internet Marketing or make money on the internet IS a full-time job no matter whatothers tell you and if you want succed in this feroce and hard bussinesyou will need a none killable motivation and specialy a goal wher you can go for
DON'T get sucked in, in the shiny objects syndrome.

Try one thing at the time( very important) if it is not working move on to next. Also build a list in different niches is one of the most important thing I belive
Than send only products or affiliate links to that list for things YOU would buy,not what others tell you has a high epc gravity etc. As you don't have their network or their lists come down to earth .

If you have some succes tell your wife and invite her to dinner with the profit so she will start to like and complain less as she alse has some benefit from your hard work. This will also strengthen your relationship.

Question: How do you even begin to build a list? Any list?
Assume I have a website with content (which I don't at this stage: don't know how), how do I build a list from there?

Spend a lot of time here learning before you spend money on anything.

Google names of trainers and training programs before you invest so
you can see the outright scams to the good stuff. You can learn a lot
    without investing in training.

Think about what products and services you like and already know something
about and would like to do or promote. Many people get into business and find they
don't like the actual work involved.

Get your time management down so you don't lose your wife. Actions speak louder than words and you need to show her you love and adore and respect her. You already have time management issues and are thinking about more work - like at least ten hours per week.

Be prepared to for it to take 3 to 5 years before quit your job money. Sometimes faster of course, but it ain't no get rich quick thing. Sometimes it's just extra income because of skills and other aspects of life. And, you have to think about what quit your job money is . Is 5000/mo it? 10,000/mo? And be aware of taxes, paying outsourcers or employees, marketing and advertising costs, and insurance...

Don't neglect online marketing of physical items. This can be done as an affiliate and you can buy at wholesale and sell at retail on Amazon or Ebay.

Also, think about using your existing knowledge, skills, and abilities to start an
offline business. It's good to start a familiar business and learn how to run one
before you get into something you don't know about.

Go to forums related to products or services you are interested in. See what problems people are having and offer the solution(s) - if there are a lot of people interested in that solution. If memory serves, early on the late Cory Rudl - or perhaps one of his students - learned from forums that a hood ornament for a certain car would keep getting stolen and was expensive to replace. He found a replica wholesale and offered that in his signature on those forums. It was a start. (Of course you have to abide by forum rules for posting.)

From all the posts I read, I realize that TIME is a big part in getting anywhere with IM or any online business. Can anyone put this into a more measurable goal? I am 60 and haven't had a job in almost 2 years. In a bit of a time crunch, here! From the purchase of a domain name to making the 1st buck, what is a realistic time frame?

It's really impossible to answer this. Some people make money within a week, others don't see a profit for over a year. There's way too many variables.

I understand variables, but you say "some people make money within a week" therefore, IT IS possible. Now, how do they manage that? And do you know anyone specific to give me some instructions as to make this happen, even if it is a very small amount?

well the question is vague so the answer can be open to pretty much anything. i will keep this short though because i don't feel like writing an ebook on the topic.

how i got started and how a lot of people start out is creating a blog about what their interests are and then incentivize the blog, create a list, and start marketing a relevant product or products on the website and to your list. the product can be something you create like an ebook or it can be through an affiliate network like clickbank, amazon, commision juction, etc...

now in order to do this, you have to get traffic. and again, an ebook can be written on this subject to. what i did was i seo'd my site myself. i researched how and got my organic free traffic. this is the long and time comsuming way but well worth it in the long run. the shortcuts would be to buy the traffic and there are tons of placing to buy it but the most popular way to buy it would be through the google adwords program. this is more targeted traffic and it also takes time and energy to learn how to set up and run a campaign properly so you don't lose your shirt.

anyway, this is how i got started. it was the easiest way since i was always talking about the things that interested me and what i was knowledgable. it was pretty easy but it takes time.

making money online isn't as easy as people make it out to be. it takes research, time, sometimes money, lots of patience, dedication and determination, a good business sense and some other qualities.

good luck with whatever ya choose to do....

What works the best for me is to write (blog) about something I'm interested or passionate about. Adding my own or affiliate products or AdSense - and you're to a good start. Of course, that's not enough to start earning money.

You have to get traffic to your site and convert those visitors into leads.. and then, after some autoresponder magic, into sales. It's easy to write but not that easy to do.

You've got plenty of information here at WF, how to do all that stuff, and if you need more guides and tips, look at WarriorRoom and if that's still not enough, have a look at WSO. (but don't get overwhelmed)

Help others with something you already know very well, or learn some skill - then help others - and you can be earning some good money for doing that in a relatively short period of time.

If you have something on mind that you can do, look at Fiverr. There are quite easy doable services selling there day and night. Take it as an example.

Having an online business is similar to an offline business. You need to have a product or a service that people want to buy. Then find the market for that business. It is also very difficult to do it yourself. You need to build a team. Find something related to what you know and enjoy. Also, take advantage of the contacts you have developed in your corporate career. To be successful you need to have something unique or a unique take that differentiates yourself from the competition.

I would find something that you can do that takes very little time as you already seem to be swamped. You can build out niche sites and get a nice Empire going..I would learn from Andrew Hansen..it is called Forever Affiliate...His course is easy to follow and if you do what he says you are able to make thousands per month on autopilot and have more time with your Wife..Good Luck Buddy.

the internet is like anything else, it takes time and effort to really succeed

yes, there are dozens of ways to make a full time living online ethically but the first thing you need to do is start educating yourself properly

the fact is 99.9% of people don't come into this game and succeed right off the bat

there is a learning curve just like anything else

when i first came online i looked at it as starting a new job and being a trainee or an apprenticeship

at first you no idea how things work you just read, learn and educate yourself until you gain a bit of knowledge

once you get some basic skills under your belt you will start to see some results

as you progress and learn more your knowledge becomes much more valuable and at some point you will know exactly what works and what doesn't (this really comes down to experience and failing i'm afraid)

the bottom line is if you're really serious about building an income online and possibly building a full time income online then get stuck in and take it serious

if you need to invest in education then so be it, if you need to invest in tools so be it

one thing you should always remember is it does take work and effort, It's no different to a job offline except online you have an unlimited earning potential and also you have the ability to use leverage online to increase profits and that is why an online biz is so powerful

slow and steady wins the race :-)

Of course you can make good money online, but you need to have an idea of the direction you want to go. I have a family too, but they know the deal. Set hours adhere to them and stay focused while at your computer. Emails are the biggest drain on productive business building.
I don't know who you are emailing, but set aside a daily goal of how many to respond. Then get back to work. As for how to make the money. It will al depend on you and what floats your boat.

I have come a long ways since I started on this journey. It's a road with more then a few pot holes and hidden mine fields, but if you stick with it, you won't regret that you didn't give up. Get a good trusted coach and they will point you to the right mindset and avoid the mines. I am really glad I got into Kenster's {Ken's} Six Figure Alliance. Its the best, because he is the best.

Do you really want the truth?

    ok bro, the thing is:

internet marketing is great, but only can take you so far.

It's so volatile and, to be frank, SO FREAKIN ' SATURATED that, if you really want to make money off the internet, you could be investing your time on the stuff that really metters - WEB DEVELOPING

i'm talking about building a REAL start up business here...not landing pages full of words.

Build i web app, mobile app or, at least, a REAL online product, like a video based 12 week course.

Back to app development : build a web app, make it subscription based ($9,90) and scale from there.

Web developing is something EXTREMELY awesome.

Learn how to code. Than, use your web marketing knowledge to market your product.

You can kick start your start up idea in 3 months, if you have the time to focuse on our learning. If you really need to keep your job, it'll take you 6 months to 1 year to be able to launch something - pretty darn fast if you want to know.

    The time will past ANYWAY.

Want to make a living off the internet? So BE REAL AND GET YOUR SELF CODING : )

Oh man, where to start?! There really are many ways to make money online, but what you want to do is build an online business. This will not be done with PPC, CPV, affiliate marketing, Adsense or blogging.

You need to think long term from the start - build your list, create membership websites or create web apps. Look at people here, many are selling Wordpress plugins they have not developed themselves, they outsourced it. But you do need to know what to outsource, this comes with experience.

eGranny - if you have a blog and are posting there, add an optin form to your blog, offer a freebie (maybe a plr report you have made better, added your own input) to encourage people to optin to your list. Feel free to contact me on Skype if you need any help.

Ill try to make this brief...Family business , I do accounting , marketing(just some backlinks when i have time), corporate services, administration and legal... a lot of work , work all night at home , wife is mad
Personally speaking, If you Know lots about your job why not create some ebooks, training videos and courses to help others learn your trade. It seems that you are well versed in your trade.

Information sells! Good Quality info that really teaches people something of value.

Don't limit your answers to any of the above mentioned info i provided of my work areas. To be honest, i hate accounting , corporate services and legal So don't waste your time on that . Mention everything you all think is the best way to make good money from the net and not just a couple of hundred a month as a part time job.
Sometimes it takes a little spark to ignite the burning flame inside.

    Hardest thing is getting customers.
    Second hardest is getting paid.

    Most everything else seems easy.

I use many methods to get customers.
    {social, blogging, SEO, you tube, images, etc.}

Getting paid is a problem because people will find any excuse.
Yeah, to not pay you. Basically, you are chasing after money.
