What would you do with 10,000,000 youtube views and 400,000 subscribers.

Hey folks. My personal friend has an account with a video with about 12million views. It is just him doing pranks in public.

He also has about 400,000 subscribers and all his new videos get over 500,000 views each month.

How would you monetise this traffic in the description box?

Could he sell t shirts of himself or should we monetise with CPA offers?

    Stick a link in there for a start!

    With that number I would drive them to a simple email capture page.

    You can also use YouTube itself to contact other YouTube users.

    Maybe he could start building a list. He could also monetize it with YouTube directly. He can make up to $4 per 1k views, which turns into very decent money for his traffic. I don't really advice CPA as he'd lose trust with his viewers.

    For that amount of traffic, I'd also monetize it with Youtube directly. ALSO build a list (by place a link in the description) in the niche that relates to the video being shown.

    And you can go from there. After turning Youtube subscribers into your own subscribers, that's when you start to make the most money from!

    What is his channel called?

    He needs a youtube partner account now! He will get no problem getting that with all his subscribers. If he can grow his audience with that size of channel, he could easily make a full time income from it!

    I’d go for split testing;

    1. Signup for Youtube Partnership program
    2. Build a list
    3. Your friend can go create his own product.

    It would be better to taste all the pies and take it from there. Otherwise, you’ll be losing a lot of money on the table.

    As some Warriors have mention, it is a smart choice to monetize it by growing your own list of subscribers. Once you have the list already, you can start selling solo ads for generic offers that might appeal to them.

    Once you have a general list, you might even consider segment them so that you will have a more targeted list. Just my 2 cents

    Well, it depends on the following:

    What percentage is REAL? ie., not bot-generated....
    What percentage are from commercial locations (USA, UK, Canada, AU, EU, etc)
    What percentage are actually interested and click through?
    What percentage will sign up

    Big numbers are nothing. It's the details that make or break a traffic option.

    I would suggest if you are having such a huge traffic you can easily monetize them. I have been doing Youtube marketing from around an year now. You can put some decent call to actions in your videos in the form of Annotations. Let suppose you wanted to sell them T shirts. Put it in Annotations, and put it as call to action. Ask them if they need T shirts similar to the gig you can buy that.
    Give links i discription.
    Also you can link a youtube channel to a website,considered as the official channel of the website. I would suggest to take effective use of that. You can put a Landing page url as your website, approve it via analytics, then if you would put that link in annotation, it would work as proper link on the video, someone clicks on that link while watching the video would got to your landing page.
    You can easily convert them into your leads.

      Being a subscriber of many popular Youtube channels, I've seen these guys make a killing with Youtube partnerships and selling their branded merchandise (using companies like District Lines).

      Also, from what I've seen over the years with some channels, if it appears like you are only making these videos to make money, that is going to come back to bite you.

      Therefore, I recommend telling your friend to keep on uploading these videos because he enjoys pulling pranks, and he enjoys the responses he gets when he uploads these videos. Doing that will develop a very LOYAL fan base... which in turn could lead to him making lots of money.

      A good example of highly successful prank channel is (Prank vs Prank). Have your friend take a look at that channel and their vlog channel (BFvsGF) to really see how important and effective it is to treat your fan base right... and what happens when you do...
