Serving Amazon S3 Videos: Which plugin for mobile?

Hi,

I have my 3.0 version of my online training course coming out this week. When I originally published in 2010, I had JWPlayer serving from Amazon S3. Now that mobile is a much higher portion of browsing, I want to make sure I accommodate those. Which formats/plugins are the best choice?

At the moment, I have .mov files completed, and ready to go to my S3 Account. I'll be serving from a membership-enabled Wordpress site with a Square/Paypal backend.

Thanks!

Michael

JW Player is still a good choice. It will automatically switch to HTML5 for devices that don't support Flash (which is all of them).

    Hey Michael,

Unless you want to pay $200 for the JWPlayer license, you can't use it on your paid training (or for any remotely commercial purposes). And frankly, JWPlayer is too cumbersome unless you want to tinker with shortcodes all day long.

I'd suggest you get EasyVideoSuite. It's expensive but serves your videos through not just S3 but CloudFront, so it's faster and cheaper.

Also, EVS is mobile friendly and the desktop app has a drag-and-drop interface that converts your raw video into the optimal format (no compression, encoding necessary on your part). Let me know if you have any questions about it, as it's a pretty extensive software.
