Need some suggestions on a camcorder for video product..

Hey guys!

I'm in the midst of creating a video product and am in need of some cheap, yet higher quality video than say an iPhone or a web cam..

This will be purely visual and no use of camtasia so I was looking to up the video quality a bit. I don't have any more than like 80-150 bucks max...

Any ideas??

Thanks!

Cory

I have a Sony HDR-CX220/R, its a great camcoder, but it costs around $200.

The newer iphones actually take some high quality HD video. Better or as good as some camcorders.

I'm in the same position as you - I've just found out that a lot of Digital Cameras have video capability. I'm off to check mine. The sound is meant to be poor quality though so might need to record sound separately.

Get yourself on eBay and get a cheap Flipcam. I got one for about £55 ($90) about 2 and a half years ago now. Check out my website link at the bottom of my post and play the video on the top right. It'll give you an idea of the quality. HD.

There are tons of quality camcorders, cameras even phones with HD recording.
The problem with a lot of them is the sound quality is not up to scratch, ever watch a
video and you can hardly hear the speaker or where the background noise is overwhelming?
I would suggest getting something with a MIC IN port so that you could record sound via
    a decent external mic.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

As already mentioned, you can get yourself one of those flip cams.
Or get a decent webcam and a microphone. With enough light some webcams are actually pretty good.

Don't worry too much about this, because in the end- it's the content that matters...
